Coming a bit late, but man was this weekend busy! Sports, sports and more sports. The Phoenix Suns season started, ASU played on Saturday, the Cardinals, Colts versus Patriots and Amazing Race all on Sunday.
So what did we think of last week’s shows? I have to say, the highlight of the week for me was probably Pushing Daisies. I don’t know what it is about that show, but it’s just so beautifully made and shot. We have Chuck in the kitchen of the Pie Hole wearing a green dress and cutting green apples. All the scenes have this color-coordination and quality to them that’s so fun to see.
But the quirkiness and writing is also great. And Olive is becoming one of the best parts of the show.
Journeyman
This episode brought us another clue to the mystery of why Dan is traveling through time, yet we really don’t feel any more closer to the truth. He helps two brothers, one of which realizes Dan hasn’t changed his shoes at all during his random appearances. Hmm…interesting. Then later, in present day, Dan speaks to him again, and the guy denies knowing Tacheon Man. I think he was lying.
The good news it, the show is on tonight and I haven’t heard anything more about it being canceled. Although the WGA strike could end a lot of shows “on the cuff.”
Heroes
Ugh. I think we all get that Hiro loves the girl and we knew it like four episodes ago, but the storyline is still going on. No Kristen Bell sucked, and most of the other stories were just boring.
When is this show going to bring us back?
The Office
What did you think of it? I heard some people thought it was the worst one, but I laughed throughout. There were some great moments…the moustaches were great, the stuff with Andy was hilarious (see the quote at the top of this blog)…
But the previews for this week show Michael Scott being dropped out in the woods AKA Man vs Wild.
Are they starting to get a bit crazy with this show? These kinds of plots are beginning to get outrageous. It makes me worried that they are running out of ideas.
Smallville
For those that watch it, do you like the season so far? I am really confused on whether or not I still like this show. There are some good things about it, but the bad are so very bad. I mean, Kara has been in hibernation for 15 years, but the episode after she comes back, she’s using lines involving current pop culture references like she’s been walking around the last 15 years.
And Lana being so evil just bothers me. I know they did it slowly over time, but I just never felt this girl could be as evil as she is right now. I wish they’d just kill her off already, something I’ve been asking for a long time to happen.
Friday Night Lights
Best episode of the season so far…some great moments in this one. Landry standing up during the halftime tirade by coach was so awesome. It’s great to see him growing up, but man my heart was torn when Tyra said what she did.
The story between the coach and his wife was hilarious and up to par with their usual relationship.
Way for Matt to stand up to Julie and make her suffer for a bit.
So that’s all with the recaps. Did any other moments stand out for you guys? Any shows I missed?
