You don’t have to wait until February to get your Lost “fix” anymore.
Originally planned to be released only for Verizon customers as a special “perk”, ABC has decided to publish the Lost: Missing Pieces “mobisodes” on their website for everyone to see. The WGA Strike has left them with limited content and revenue, so they likely are looking for any means to make an extra buck.
There are 13 of these vignettes to be shown, and they will be published every Monday until the premiere of season four. They are around 2-3 minutes long and who knows what they will be about. Except for the first one, which I’ve seen.
iF Magazine made an interesting point about the fact that the writers are striking over this very reason: Free content being published by the networks ONLINE to make revenue the writers weren’t privy to, nor ever will be.
But the Hollywood Insider kind of suggests that the Lost writers who wrote these little episodes were paid for it in some separate arrangement.
The first episode is entitled “The Watch” and features Jack and his father Christian on the beach the day Jack gets married to Sarah. I don’t remember Jack ever having a watch, but it feels like forever since I’ve seen an episode.
DarkUFO.com posted this video almost a week ago and there are a ton of comments on it about what people think of the barely three minute episode. Might be worth it to read it for ideas on what it might mean.
I agree with one of the commentors and thought it myself…Jack’s dad starts the story about the watch and I immediately pictured Christopher Walken in Pulp Fiction telling a similar story.
Anyone got any ideas on what it could mean?
Go to ABC.com to watch these every Monday.
