Despite FOX going with the strategy of completely canceling 24 until the strike is over, ABC is going another route and will show the eight completed episodes of Lost already in the can.
Lost Executive Producer Damon Lindelof said that the 8th episode ends in a cliffhanger that wont be resolved at all until after the strike is over.
The fact that FOX has the powerhouse of American Idol starting early in 2008 probably gives them the freedom to cancel shows like 24, whereas networks like ABC need to show what they can.
This is great news for those of us who cannot wait for Lost to get back on the air, but it will likely end up being even MORE painful once that 8th episode is over and we have to wait even longer to see what happens.

Only eight episodes of LOST? Booo….
Don’t frakin’ do it ABC!
Hey – can the viewers go on strike?

i would rather them delay and get a full 16-episode season than have 8 shows and then wait for the other 8 later…just my preference.

I need my fix – show 2, eight or the full sixteen, just give me something! That being said, I will go nuts waiting for episode nine…
[...] are 13 of these vignettes to be shown, and they will be published every Monday until the premiere of season four. They are around 2-3 minutes long and who knows what they will be about. Except for the first one, [...]
The last time this happened, something like 9% of viewers never came back, so yeah, I guess so
But 8 episodes will be at LEAST something…
