I’m a huge John Cusack fan…from Better off Dead and One Crazy Summer, to High Fidelity and especially Gross Pointe Blank. His role as Martin Blank in that film about an assassin trying to get out of the business is one of my all-time favorite movies.
Tonight he appears on Inside the Actor’s Studio with James Lipton and will talk about everything from his friendship with Jeremy Piven to his work behind the camera in High Fidelity.
He’s also the star in a Sundance film that came out this year, but I haven’t seen it anywhere and am just going to have to wait for the DVD apparently, but it’s called “Grace is Gone” and it’s a movie about a father of two children who loses his wife in the Iraq war.
He’s been rumored to have done a performance worthy of an Oscar, so I cannot wait to see it.
Also, as a side note, I just realized in looking more into his film history that he starred in the Disney movie The Journey of Natty Gann, which came out in 1985. I was only 10 then and my dad took us to see that movie and it stuck with me for some reason. Funny to think that Cusack was in it.
Anyways, make sure you Tivo the show tonight or just watch it: Premieres December 3 @ 8/7c.
You can also catch a clip of John Cusack on the show here.
I think that Grace is Gone is just coming out, but it will probably be limited release.
Seems like I’ve heard about it coming out forever now…
Okay, looks like the 7th of December it’s out in limited release. Guess we’ll be hitting Camelview!
FYI Tavis Smiley interviewed John Cusack and that will air tonight also on PBS.
Thanks Brian, I haven’t heard of Tavis Smiley before…we’ll try to check it out.
