Rescue Me is great! But what about Dexter and The Brotherhood, Weeds and Californication. Great shows on Showtime.

I agree with your #1 – hands down. With the WGA strike, everyone should rent or buy this first season of Damages and see what all the fuss is about!

    Good list, Mike!

  3. R.A. Porter

The Shield and The Riches would be high on my list, not to mention the USA network shows Psych and Burn Notice.

See R.A., there are just so many good shows on cable, it’s hard to watch them all :)

My aunt loves Burn Notice, I’d like to see that someday.

  5. R.A. Porter

I couldn’t pass on it. Bruce Campbell on the air is guaranteed gold. I loves me The Chin!

Fortunately, the show itself is good as well, so Bruce doesn’t have to carry the entire load.

Psych? Dude, that show is so freakin funny… I’m still a big Stargate Atlantis fan… The 4400 is still good.

    The Soup rocks.

Damages wasn’t even on my radar until recently. I wanted to check it out but now that I know it’s coming back for two more seasons…and I don’t know what I missed…I’m thinking maybe I just wait until the show is over and watch the whole thing so I don’t have to wait. If everybody will stop talking about it. :)

    Hey Mike!

Well, I got to check out your Top Ten Cable List. Verrry interesting. ;)

Let’s see. I agree with your choices of Planet Earth, Flight of Conchords, Rescue Me and Damages. Loved everyone of those programs. The Soup I watch on an on/off type basis and I will admit that it’s a hoot. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is one of those take it or leave type shows for me (I mostly leave it). I never could get into Entourage. I gave it three tries, but it didn’t click with me. In fact, I find it one of HBO’s most overrated shows. I’m not a big scifi type of viewer. There’s always that exception though; for example, Journeyman and Torchwood. So, I guess that I agree with about what? four (4) of your choices? Not too bad I guess. :)

Let’s see, my list would consist of (again, in no particular order at this moment) of the following:

    Damages
    Rescue Me
    Mad Men
    The Closer
    Burn Notice (lots of fun)
Dexter (the first season was great; the second, excellent)
Flight of the Conchords (the music is hilarious as is the manager, Murray)
    The Sopranos
The Discovery Health Channel (anything on that network)
    The Shield

Of note, while it has been off the air for over a year (I think), I’m a huge fan of The Wire. I’m looking forward to its *final* return next month. This under appreciated HBO series ranks as #1 on my list regardless.

Like you, I don’t get to see EVERYTHING on cable, but I do intend to check out Brotherhood and whatever else is out there that looks interesting. When I get home from work late, I’m usually too wound up with the day’s events, so I relax by catching up with the recorded programs late at night when everything else is quiet. Yes! :D

    Until next time Mike…

    Hey Tania, good list!

I really am going to have to check out Dexter, Burn Notice and The Wire someday. The Sopranos is already on my list as well.

That’s a lot of TV to watch, but probably with the strike, we’ll all have plenty of time!
