My Name is Bruce is the “real life” story of Bruce Campbell and how he gets mistaken for Ash from the Evil Dead trilogy and is asked to rid a small Oregon town of a deadly monster.
I will start this blog off by saying I’m not as big a Bruce Campbell fan as some people out there. He has a fanatical following for sure. That being said, I am a HUGE Army of Darkness lover, a movie that came out my senior year of high school, 1992.
The tagline for that movie: “Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas.”
Low on gas for either his car that traveled with him or the chainsaw he wears on his missing hand. Either way, it was a cult classic instantly. It was part of the Evil Dead trilogy, the first two of which I haven’t seen yet.
Campbell has gotten around and chances are you’ve seen him in a movie without knowing it. His IMDB filmography shows 91 movies/TV shows he’s been a part of in the past.
He’s been in the X-Files, Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (I loved the last two), Spiderman 1, 2 and 3, and the recently popular Burn Notice television show.
If you aren’t a Bruce Campbell fan, this movie likely isn’t for you, but if you are one, the reviews have been great and it’s coming out sometime in 2008, despite a previous 2007 release date.
