Rising Hollywood actress Eva Mendes was the latest star to disrobe for the animal rights charity PETA and their “Fur? – I’d rather go naked campaign” (I think we’d all rather she would but it’s just not practical) when she appeared in ads for the group last week wearing nothing but her birthday suit and a smile. By appearing in the ads, Eva joined the ranks of stars who have gone before her including Alicia Silverstone, Pamela Anderson, Tommy Lee, and Christy Turlington.

Mendes appeared in Rockefeller Plaza last Thursday for the unveiling of the photograph shot by renowned photographer Don Flood. She also took the time to explained her involvement in the ongoing campaign against fur:
“I love animals, but I hadn’t had a pet since I was a kid. I recently got a dog and he’s not only made me a happier girl–he’s made me much more sympathetic to animal rights. I look at my beautiful dog and think, “Of course I’d never eat him or skin him for his fur, so why would I be okay with eating a cow or wearing a cheetah?” It’s just not right. It’s a contradiction.”
The whole thing makes me want a steak.
From what I can ascertain you don’t have to have many qualification in order to become the spokesperson for PETA. Mostly you just have to be willing to take off your clothes and look good after doing so. As you can see from the images below, Eva doesn’t have a problem with either of those conditions.
For some reason, though, I think PETA is going to want Eva to give up a few things. They’ll probably start with the coat she’s wearing in this picture…

Us low-carb dieters practically only eat meat. I wouldn’t mind taking mine outta ole Eva’s round steak. PETA sucks.
