This week is filled with a bunch of DVD goodies, the best being the hilarious movie Superbad, starring Michael Cera and Jonah Hill. It’s another film from Judd Apatow who also did Knocked Up.
I saw this movie when it was in theaters and totally loved it. It’s completely vulgar and highly dirty, but absolutely hilarious. Cera and Hill are great as buddies about to graduate from high school and not sure about where their future college plans leave their friendship.
You can get the unrated version, or the normal one or get it on Blu-Ray.
Here’s a list of some other worthwhile rentals:
- Razor: We’ve been talking about the Razor movie for awhile now and it premiered on Sci Fi last weekend, but this is the DVD and it supposedly contains a lot more stuff, including scenes not shown on TV.
- Saturday Night Live, Season 2 (1976): The cover has the coneheads on it, so what could be better than that? Oh yeah, Bill Murray’s first year on the show.
- 24, Season 6: Jack Bauer in a season I wasn’t too fond of, but I think watching this show on DVD must be spectacular.
- The Wire, Season 4: I’ve never seen this show, but it’s on my to-do list, along with the Sopranos and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I was still in Iraq when this came out in theaters. My 15 year old son didn’t get to see it yet either (I’m a “horrible” dad). Hopefully Blockbuster will have a copy one of these days.
