First Look At Pics From “The Time Traveler’s Wife”

I nearly wet myself with excitement when I first heard New Line Cinema was finally going to adapt Audrey Niffenegger’s incredible novel, The Time Traveler’s Wife,for the big screen. It is, by far, my favorite novel of the past decade (see “The Time Traveler’s Wifeâ€Â? In Our Future).

I was almost equally pleased to hear that the cast would include Eric Bana (Hulk, Troy, Munich) as Henry and Rachel McAdams (Mean Girls, The Notebook, Red Eye) as Clare, the two leads of the book whom the story centers around. I’m not sure they were who I would have pictured when I read the book but they’re both excellent actors and should do very well as the two main characters.

The Plot of “The Time Traveler’s Wife”

If you don’t know, the story revolves around Henry, a librarian at Chicago’s Newberry Library who has a gene that causes him to involuntarily time travel. He meets, courts, marries, and helps his wife cope with the many complications of his disorder as the two are often out of sync (in time, that is). The story is a fascinating tale of love told in the most imaginative way. The story is told out of chronological order so I don’t know how they will handle that in the screenplay. I simply cannot do the story justice in a short paragraph. This book is a must read even if you do not like science fiction.

This Is Not Journeyman

Don’t be fooled by those who were comparing TV’s “Journeyman” to this book. I was/am a big fan of “Journeyman,” but the two stories have very little in common other than a time travel component and two people who love each other.
