About a month ago we all heard the news that Jack, err, Kiefer Sutherland went to jail for being a nimrod and getting a DUI charge. The whole situation struck me as funny somehow, but only from the angle that it’s like trying to put Jack Bauer into jail.
So inspiration struck and I ended up writing a satire piece on the whole thing, something that made some people laugh I heard and also that I’m very proud of.
Little did I know that not only was I going to get a big head from the good things my readers told me, but I ended up gaining something else from it.
The Cap’n, who is one of my most devoted and faithful readers, and who also happens to be a cousin of mine, gave me a surprise gift at Christmas this year that I was in no way expecting.
Enter the Jack Bauer “24 Series 2” edition of a McFarlane figurine.
You can see it in the photo above and the one to the right. Not only is he holding a frakking gun and looking bad ass, but he’s kicking down a stinking door!
The thing looks awesome and mere words can’t describe how great it is.
The moral of the story is this: Blog about stuff, get free stuff.
All it took was Keifer going to jail and Mike wins!
I’m just hoping that David Duchovney or Gillian Anderson get into trouble this year, because it would be nice to add the Mulder and Scully figurine to my suddenly growing collection.

It would be funnier if he was bending the iron bars from his jail cell with one hand while holding a beer in the other, but that one is pretty cool too.
