  1. The Trousered Ape

For me it is a toss-up between Desmond and Hurley.

Desmond because his character just seems so cool and his entire back story seems the most interesting to me. I am also very intrigued about events that happened to him beginning with the end of Season 2 and going forward. Finally, his connection of the larger mythology is extremely compelling as well.

Hurley – c’mon, who doesn’t like Hurley – the guy who single handedly made it cool to say “dude” again? Hurley is the man!

Yeah, everyone likes Hurley. But I’m a Jack fan. He’s the everyman that I relate to…what can I say? I’m a 33 year old, middle class, white American male… And he has issues.

Hurley’s best line ever: “You’ve got some Arnst on you.”

My favorite Lost character? Thats easy….
Whatever is on any other channel. I’ve never seen an episode of Lost, and from how the show continually provides no answers to its fans, and weak climaxes and extensive breaks, it looks like I’m not missing anything.

  5. Mike

You obviously read the negatives about the show only…there are answers and AWESOME climaxes and the breaks were at an end before the strike.

If you rent them on DVD, I guarantee you’ll be hooked from the git-GO

  6. Jina

I’m sad for the Captain… that he is so anti-Lost! What a waste of a TV in his house.

Okay… on to the question – Eko. Such an intriguing character with a tortured yet peaceful quality about him.

Oh… and Jack’s not too hard on the eyes either. :)

  7. The Trousered Ape

Cap’n – you are missing a lot if you are not watching LOST! It is easily the best show on tv for the past 3 years.

Along with dissapointed fans, I have heard LOST is good. I hear it keeps you guessing, secret numbers, tunnels, smokey monsters and such, but as good as it may be, I cant imagine its better than BSG….

I only know MO watches both shows, so MO/Jina, anyone… which is better?

  9. Frank C

Locke. The Island has given him a new life and what exactly he’ll do with that gift is one of the great story arcs in the show. I also like how he’s a foil to Jack, Sayid, and Ben. He’s had some great one liners like “With all due respect Jack, since when do I report to you?” or when Sayid catches him in a lie, “I stand corrected”. Some of his exchanges with Ben are great too.

Oooh – Ben – forgot about him. Definitely ranks up there with Desmond and Hurley in my book. I totally believe that he is right when he says “we’re one of the good guys Jack.” I actually think he is.

  11. Mike

Cap’n…if I had to choose between the two, it would be Lost. I have to know how it ends and it’s that good.

Seriously, of all the top dramas I watch, Lost and BSG would be ranked 1 and 2.

    Jina, love the Eko pick.

    And Lock is great Frank.

Also Ape…Ben was my next choice…he was one of the best additions to the show they ever did…maybe better than Desmond.

Gosh this is a hard question Mike! I love Sawyer because he’s a little crass, a little funny but always loyal. But really, I love so many of the characters, it’s too hard to choose!

    Paulo…

No, really, I would choose Ben. He does an awesome job as the puppet master and I don’t think we’ve come close to how deep his character is.

    Paulo, fdl!

Great question. I’d probably go with Jack, but Sawyer and Locke are a close second. I love Jack’s reluctant leader, battling his demons both personal and professional. He seems the most relatable to me.

How about this – the island itself. I think Locke would agree with me :-)

If you don’t buy that, then I would have to say Sawyer. He is the most consistently entertaining and interesting character in my book.
