I’m sure you’ve seen the previews of NBC’s new TV movie, Knight Rider, which is a 2-hour flick that will bring back awesome memories of KITT and Michael Knight from back in the day, but is it going to be good or even worth watching?
Well, Doug Liman is behind this thing, the guy who brought us the Bourne Identity movies, so that’s a bonus. The second thing I like is that Will Arnett will be the voice of KITT, which I think is an absolutely perfect choice. You can here his voice in the video above, if only briefly.
“Hello Mike.”
(Man, sounds like he’s talking to Michael Bluth there for a moment. Dang, now I need to go bust out my Arrested Development DVDs.)
But surprising, even to me, the best part may be that David Hasselhoff will be reprising his role as Michael Knight. I know, this is “The Hoff” we’re talking about, but come on, who else can play Michael Knight? If they put some newbie in there, it just wouldn’t feel right. With Hasselhoff in there, it might actually be fun again!
And what about the new car? It’s no longer a Pontiac Trans Am, now this time KITT returns as a pretty frakking bad ass looking Shelby GT500KR Mustang. You can check out the photos of the car below which I’ve included for your enjoyment.
The movie premieres on February 17th on NBC. Will you watch? Did you get into this show ever? I used to love it! Turbo BOOOOOSST!!!!
You can see more photos of KITT over here and also a new 30 second as for the movie, which really seems like a Mustang commercial.
The interior of the new KITT
Mmmm, the red beam across the front…Hello KITT.

Car is cool lookin but i think the double air fin needs to go…and i might have went with chrome wheels…(you know how mesmerized I get at anything shiny…)
Could have been fun re-tooling Knight rider, but seriously ‘the Hoff’ needs to go. I won’t be able watch without thinking of him either singing in German or rolling around drunk begging for a cheesebuger.
not a fan of the hoff but with not much on tv these days, we will most likely end up recording it.
We should be so lucky that the Hoff would sing German or roll around drunk begging for a cheeseburger… In fact, that’s what I’m hoping to see when I watch the show.
@ Jason – that at least might raise it to a level of watchable quality.
The original was unwatchable – mainly because of Hoff – I do not have high hopes for a made-for-tv movie. The car looks pretty cool though, but I would probably get more enjoyment at watching a Ford commercial.
Speaking of cheeseburgers – how about Jules paying a visit to the Hoff?
Jules – “What kind of burger is that?”
Hoff – rolls around drunk of the floor…
Jules – “What kind of burger is that m*$&*)@&*@r? And quit drolling on my shoes before I have Vincent shoot you.”
Yeah – Pulp Fiction meets Knight Rider for Pulp Rider or Knight Fiction or something like that…
Actually read in ET that the Hoff is just doing a cameo…maybe there’s hope afterall.
I’m a big Mustang guy, and personally I’m embarrassed about how hideous the new knight rider car looks. The GT500 is such a beautiful car, and they just flat out ruined it. Terrible.
sukkels de echte kitt is de beste deze is niet cool
I love how it looks, the only thing that I would remove is the ricer double wing. One wing is enough, it's just too bad the show hasn't done that well. I heard it's rather cheesy!
