Great question Mike (and a tough one). If I had to pick three, just based on the laugh factor, they would be:

    3. Old School

    2. Caddyshack

    1. The Big Lebowski

Rushmore is a close fourth, but it’s not just a comedy.

Nice list man…I still haven’t seen the Big Lebowski, but it’s out on HD-DVD and we’ve been wanting to.

Thanks. Let me know what you think about The Big Lebowski when you get a chance to see it. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

    1)Real Genius
2)Monty Python – In search of the Holy Grail
    3)Princess Bride

Can’t name just 3, but in no particular order with some favorite quotes…

Office Space – “Ah, I’m going to have to ask you to come in on Sunday too”

The Big Lebowski – “Sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes, well, he eats you.”

Trading Places – “In Philadelphia, it’s worth 50 bucks”

Monty Python and the Holy Grail – “Go away or I shall taunt you a second time.”

Life of Brian – “You’re all individuals!”

Duck Soup – “The country’s taxes must be fixed, and I know what to do with it. If you think you’re paying too much now, just wait till I get through with it!”

Horse Feathers – “Your proposition may be good, But let’s have one thing understood: Whatever it is, I’m against it.”

Anchorman – “Boy, that escalated quickly”

Cap’n, Princess Bride is a top one of mine as well.

You guys are naming off a lot of movies I haven’t seen…namely these older ones, like Life of Brian, Monty Python…but never Duck Soup, Horse Feathers??

I do love the Anchorman quote Frank :)

Duck Soup and Horse Feathers are Marx Brothers movies made in the 1930′s. Groucho is hilarious in them. They may be online since the copyright was expired (I think). The Cocoanuts is another good film of theirs with the infamous ‘viaduct’ exchange between Groucho and Chico.

Life of Brian reminds me a lot of the current state of blogging although it’s a look at religion. I’d also have to add Monty Python’s Meaning of Life to the mix as well. Oh, and while it’s not 100% Python, Time Bandits.

This is hard but probably Anchorman, The Jerk, and Nacho Libre. I also grew up with my dad making me watch Monty Python so I have a soft spot for that too. I also love pretty much every Will Ferrell movie, even cameo roles like Wedding Crashers are great. “HEY MOM! CAN WE GET SOME MEATLOAF?”

Too hard of a request, but I’ll put down:

    1) City Lights (Chaplin)
    2) Modern Times (Chaplin)
    3) Some Like It Hot (Wilder)

I love Some Like It Hot!

Hard to narrow it down, but in no particular order:
    -Anchorman
    -Caddyshack
    -Office Space
-Just about anything else with Will Ferrell or Vince Vaughn

    1. Some Like it Hot. The greatest last line in film history (about which Wilder thought “it’ll do for now”)
    2. Stripes. Most people prefer Caddyshack or Ghost Busters for early-era Bill Murray comedies, but for me it’s always been Stripes.
    3. Groundhog Day. Just a perfectly structured movie, and about the only one in which Andie McDowell doesn’t bug me.

    and two bonus flicks..
    4. Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. NPH, ’nuff said.
    5. Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?. Tony Frakin’ Randall. In fact, pretty much any Randall movie could make my top ten.

And I didn’t even bring up Philadelphia Story or Desk Set (my favorite Hepburn/Tracy flick.) Alright. I’m going to stop now. This could go on for awhile.

R.A. Porter, love the Harold and Kumar pick, and also Groundhog Day. I love Bill Murray in that.
