Today I have reached a milestone that I wanted to share with my readers as well as the other users of BloggingZoom. It’s hard to believe but the article you are reading right now is the 200th article I have submitted to BloggingZoom. I began submitting my articles to BloggingZoom on November 1, 2007.
What Is BloggingZoom?
For those of you who don’t know, BloggingZoom is a website, a tool really, for bloggers. Using a concept similar in design to Digg, bloggers are able to submit the articles they write (or articles of merit they find out on the internet) to BloggingZoom. Upon submitting your article you are allowed to write a brief description of the article and add tags. This description is important because it is how BloggingZoom helps the bloggers the most.
How BloggingZoom Works
You see, the guys who started the whole thing, Courtney and Vic, are well versed in the intricacies of Google and what it takes to get a site, or article in this case, listed high in the Google search results. You want your site or your articles listed high in the search results because that’s a great way for people to find your site. They search for something and see your article listed as one of the top results. Well, Court and Vic designed BloggingZoom (BZ) with the idea that they would help people (bloggers) get their articles in those search results.
The way they do this is by using the power of BloggingZoom to submit the descriptions you provide to Google. Now, the whole process is far more complicated than I care to get in to, but I can say that they have had great success in getting the BZ pages listed high in the Google search results. If you follow their advice on how to write your articles and your descriptions they can almost always get your article submission on BZ to rank highly on Google.
What does this do for you, the blogger? Well, when people search for something and see the BZ link in the Google search results they click on it and it takes them to YOUR article submission page where they can read the description of your article then click through to your site to read the entire article.
By submitting your articles to BZ you are able to get far more traffic than you would be able to get on your own. The more people that begin using BZ, the bigger BZ gets, the better they do in Google, and the more hits we all receive from Google searches. That’s the concept in a nutshell.
The BloggingZoom Community
Now, BloggingZoom has also become well known for the sense of community that exists within the site itself. I would like to think that I had at least some small part in creating that community as I have been an active user since day 1 (and an avid preacher of its merits). Visiting the BZ site you are able to view the descriptions of other article submissions, vote for (or Zoom) articles, comment on articles, email other users, and participate in the community that is quickly developing.
I have personally found many great blogs to read using the community at BZ and made an untold number of new friends. Some of those friendships have even turned out to be truly special such as the friendship I’ve made with Mike from A Mike Life (who actually found BZ through my Easiest Way Ever To Get A Backlink From A PR4 Website! promotion on this site). I also count Court and Vic among my new friends as well as many of you who are probably reading this article now.
Past Articles About BloggingZoom
I’ve written several articles over the past few months that deal directly with my success with BloggingZoom and how it’s worked for me. You may be interested in checking those out.

Enjoying Success With BloggingZoom
I can say without hesitation that joining and participating in BloggingZoom was the best thing I’ve ever done for my blog. Prior to BZ I was averaging only 1,600 unique hits a month on my site. In December I nearly hit the 30,000 unique visitors mark and I’m well on my way to repeating that success this month. There is absolutely no signs that traffic is slowing down. In fact, the beauty of BZ is that the more I submit the more traffic I get (from both BZ users and Google searches).
I’ve also been blown away by the things I’ve learned on BZ since I first started participating. Court and Vic, as well as quite a few other BZ users, are so incredibly helpful and so willing to share their vast knowledge with you that you sometimes feel they must be making things up – no one would give away the secrets they do. But they aren’t making things up and the tips and tricks they share actually work. I can’t even tell you how many articles I’ve had hit the first page of Google search results after putting what I’ve learned from them into practice. Sometimes the search results will have the direct link to my site and a link to my article on BZ right next to each other!
BloggingZoom Hacked
BloggingZoom is not without its detractors as all successful start-ups must have. I suppose some people feel threatened by BZ’s success or angered by personality clashes with the independent-spirited Vic. Just the other day someone hacked the servers that host BloggingZoom and Vic’s personal site, Blogger Unleashed, and brought the whole thing down for an extended period.
Rather than let the hackers get the best of them, Vic and Court not only brought the site back but they brought it back with a brand new look and new features. They are, admittedly, not at 100% with the new features and the logo, etc., but I think the statement it makes is quite clear…and very telling. BZ isn’t going anywhere.
200th BloggingZoom Article Posted!
So today, with this article, I’m celebrating the 200th article that I’ve submitted to BloggingZoom. I’ve had some articles that have had a lot of success on BZ as far as the number of Zooms they’ve gotten (Easiest Way Ever To Get A Backlink From A PR4 Website! is the highest Zoomed article ever on BZ with 56 Zooms – although I don’t expect that to last much longer) and I’ve had others that barely made a blip (too many to list).
I am proud to say, however, that every article I’ve submitted (not counting those I’ve submitted today) have gone “Hot.” That’s a lot of articles. And I’ve had a lot of articles do very well which is always nice.
Conclusion
There really is no denying that BZ can help you build traffic to your site. You can clearly see what it’s done for me and this site after only 199 articles and three months of active participation. Just imagine how much traffic BZ will be sending our way when it becomes one of the highest trafficked sites on the internet, as I firmly believe it will.
If you are a blogger and you have not tried BZ or if you are a BZ user who doesn’t submit all of your articles or participate by Zooming other people’s articles or commenting and being a part of the community, then I would suggest that you get involved. It is well worth the time and energy you spend on it.
If you are a reader I would ask that you consider signing up on BloggingZoom and Zooming my articles if you like what you read. The higher my Zooms are the more exposure I get in the blogging world. It only takes a moment to sign up and once you do that it takes merely a nanosecond to click on the Zoom button to Zoom my article. I would be forever grateful.
If you are an active BloggingZoom user who is reading this article please leave a comment and let me know you stopped by. I always check out the work of my fellow bloggers when they check take the time to check out mine. Let me know you’re out there!
Above all, keep submitting those articles. It won’t be long before you’ve reached the 200 article mark as well.

Congrats, Jason! I was actually writing a post about BZ, but you wrote a detailed description of it, so I guess I’ll just have to link this post, if that’s fine with you.
See you at BZ!
