I have to say, seeing the NCC1701 move out of the darkness and hearing that music again... the blood runs hot once again :-)

Well, I have to agree that it sometimes seems that we've concentrated on the same group of people too much as far as Star Trek goes. In many ways I would have preferred if they had just created a new story arc with new characters and everything for this film. I think that might have been preferable.

Having said that, I'll be one of the first in line to see the movie when it opens. What can I say? I'm a fan.

I've been a trek fan for the last 25 years, and stuck with them right up to now. Even though there have been some bombs, and there's been quite a bit of repetition in the series, it's still enjoyable. On top of that, I've read almost every Trek novel ever published, so there's a lot of stories out there fit to be filmed.

It does make one wonder, though ... has *too* much happened to some of these people? With so much happening to just one small group of people, it makes you wonder just how boring life is for the rest of the ships in the fleet.

Either way, I'm looking forward to watching this movie. Hopefully they'll have an English showing here in Japan sometime early in 2009. Until then, I'll have to re-read some books to get my trek fill :)
