If you watch the director’s cut version, you’ll see that Rob has his ring on the right hand. Before that in the stairs, Lily is barefeet holding her high heels shoes. Then on the roof, she has flat shoes.
That means they are on a dream. Beth, Rob’s love, has slept with one of his Japanese schoolfriend. The goal is to give birth of an idea, that Beth trully loves Rob. But there are always problems. The monster refers to Godzilla, a japanese monster, representation of his nightmare of the japanese guy. The man who speaks to Hud in a foreign language represents the general difficulty of American people to understand other cultures.
I think people are crazy to think that the monster is real. Such monster doesn’t exist!!!

okay guys, im not quite sure, but i only watched half the film, so not completely sure, BUT!! at the end, when that thing crashes into the water, i swear i can hear people starting to scream in fear? maybe its just the excitement at a park or a rollercoaster, or maybe it could be them screaming at a huge wave or something, i missed the start of the film, so i could be very wrong. but Jason. thanks so much for this, i didnt get to hear the static on the end part (grrr Film4) but i read up while i was doing some random reading up on the film. but that voice clip is very trippy. this is very interesting!

i dont know, but i think that cloverfield is kinda like a prehistoric creature…
when i first saw the movie i loved it!!! awesome!!! but its a whole mistery!!! i decided to uncover some clues, and i found something interesting…
jj abrams confirmed that in 2011, a movie called “super 8″ will be launched… this movie could be a prequel of cloverfield!! but its just a suposition…

but could someone tell me, what was the russian guy tryin´ to tell hud??

they picture of the that he couldn’t recognized is a picture of a dead whale with a bit on it’s head and a slash on the side of it, look real close and you can see the whale’s mouth; it’s laying on it’s right side.
