Being a huge fan of the books as a child I was slightly disappointed in the movie version of “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.” I just felt that it lost something in the translation to the screen. Somehow it didn’t seem as real on the screen as it did in my imagination.
I have high hopes for “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” (official site), however. From what I’ve seen so far I think it looks really good (“The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspianâ€Â? Trailer and Poster). That is, I think the look of it is really nice and I think the preview they’ve released makes it seem like it might be action packed.
Now, thanks to the folks at USA Today we’ve got some high quality pictures from the film to whet our appetites even more. They only serve to confirm my suspicion that the visuals on this film are going to be quite good.

I’m a big fan of the books as well and I kind of liked the first movie. While they did deviate slightly from the book in places it wasn’t as bad as Lord of the Rings.
My favorite book in the series is The Silver Chair. I think that one will be more of a special effects challenge than the others. That is, if they get to make it and don’t screw up the story.

Yeah, I think you’re right about Silver Chair. I think Dawn Treader is the next one scheduled, though. I’m going to wait and see how this one turns out before I hold my breath.
I need to re-read all the books to catch up and remember what the heck happened.

I tried that last year but I only got through about three or four of them before I ended up moving on to other books…I think the magic isn’t the same as it was when I was younger.
