John Krasinski appears to be making better choices. After that debacle that was License to Wed (doesn’t deserve a link) with Robin Williams and Mandy Moore, the Office superstar will appear with George Clooney and Rene Zellweger in the movie Leatherheads.
I would certainly say that Clooney and Zellweger are a step up. A giant step up.
Leatherheads (which hits theaters April 4th) is a romantic comedy set in the 1920s with the setting of a professional football league, with Clooney’s team fledging away in poor attendance and lost sponsors. To reinvigorate them he recruits a war hero and college football star in Krasinski.
Krasinski’s character is so legendary and amazing that a reporter played by Zellweger will go out of her way to prove that he’s too good to be true.
It doesn’t take genius to figure out that the two football players will get involved in a love triangle with the reporter.

I liked the preview and it looks pretty funny, and while Krasinski has been great on The Office, I’d love to see his movie career take off a bit with a quality film for once.
I’m not a huge Zellweger fan, but Clooney is amazing in almost anything he does, so I have high hopes for this one. He is also the director on this one, and considering his previous directorial credits include Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, and Good Night, and Good Luck, this has a really good chance of being a hit.

Woot! I want to see this movie – but since I am pretty much resolved not to go to the theater, I’ll have to wait for it on DVD (because it is a Universal pick). Hopefully Universal will have come to their senses by then and will be releasing movies on Blu-ray…I guess one can only hope.
You guys and your theater grudges, lol.
Go during the day, take off early on a Friday, it’s no problem
Taking off early on Friday is a problem…my work would never allow that!
