This video was apparently released on LiveLeak.com, and I found it thanks to Adam’s blog who has been following these Cloverfield post-release clues.
Again, don’t watch this stuff or read more if you don’t want anything given away. Spoilers and speculation ahead.
The basic idea from what I am gathering is this:
There was a Cloverfield viral site called Slusho.com, which is owned by parent company Tagaruto, which owns the oil tanker in the video. Oh yeah, and Rob from the movie was headed to Japan to work in this company.
According to those that have solved some of the puzzles of the Slusho site, the drink “Slusho” is made from a deep sea ingredient, which is what that oil rig could have actually been drilling for.
Did they uncover something they shouldn’t have? If you are looking for even more in-depth analysis, check out AdamCzar’s take on the thing. It’s pretty good.
I have to say, this fake newscast is pretty real looking…and I am still LOVING all these little clues that are coming out. Keep it up guys!
Thanks for the link! I’m definately thinking Tagaruto shook up the ocean bed of something they shouldn’t have.

I had it at one point in the movie, but that was it.
