    Hmm … I’m surprised they’d go with a metal Enterprise insignia. This wasn’t used in Starfleet until after the end of Kirk’s five year mission with the Constitution Class Enterprise :???:

    That said, I think the first one would have been a better match if the movie is supposed to take place before the original crew came together on the bridge of the ever-storied NCC-1701.

    But I digress….

    Jason, I’m not even going to pretend like I know if you’re right about the metal insignia thing or not because I have no idea. But, I did read an interview where it said Trekkies were upset about the trailer because the Enterprise was being built in dry dock and not in space. The producers said they used some creative license in the film so…maybe that’s the case with this.

    I just think the one with colors is prettier.
