In what is starting to sound like a broken record (pun intended) Britney Spears has had another “episode.” Spears was taken from her home by ambulance early Thursday and escorted to a hospital by more than a dozen police officers. Spears’ police escort also included motorcycles, two cruisers, and two helicopters.
An L.A. police officer, speaking on condition of anonymity because he had no authorization to speak, told reporters that the troubled pop star was being taken to “get help” but would not give the destination of the ambulance. The Los Angeles Times, however, reported that Spears was taken to UCLA Medical Center to be placed on a “mental evaluation hold.” Center spokesman Mark Wheeler declined to comment on the matter, citing privacy laws.
This latest incident comes on the heels of a January 4th breakdown in which Spears reportedly shut herself in her bathroom with one of her small children and refused to turn her kids over to be taken to their father, Kevin Federline, who had primary custody (Britney Spears Taken In Ambulance After Standoff Involving Children). In that incidence Spears was released from the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after a day and a half.
This incidence only reinforces what is becoming a mainstream belief that Britney Spears has serious mental issues that need to be addressed. Her behavior is becoming increasingly bizarre and unpredictable since her divorce from Federline in November 2006. One wonders how long a person must scream out for help before someone, finally, does something to help them. Does Britney Spears not have anyone in her life who cares about her enough to force her to get help?
It is really hard to keep track of Britney’s day to day moves and whereabouts. Beats watching a soap opera. I hope this time she gets better.

I think the problem is that she is unlikely to get better without someone intervening to get her the help she so obviously needs.
I had a hunch that this might happen when her parents showed up again. I think we’re at the point where something needs to be done before she really hurts herself of someone else. I’m not a Brit fan, but I wish her well.

I’d be crazy too if I had all of the attention she gets.
Its my understanding she was physically removed from her house, against her will. Her current psych doc (not doc phil), made the call to have this done. she is in the mental wing at UCLA, so perhaps the call for help was made.

I think for now the children are better to stay with the father. It’s too danger for little children to be with unstable mother. Besides, the children will get traumatic.
How sad is it that this all makes Kevin Federline look awful responsible in comparison?
