The results of the People’s Choice Awards are in and let’s just say that not only did the nominations suck back in November when they came out and I wrote nasty things about them, but the results have almost impossibly made it even MORE of a laughing stock.
Thanks to the Cap’n for notifying me that they actually came out with the winners, because my morning has gone pretty crappy so far and I needed something to make fun of today.
So without further ado, let’s bash the People’s Choice Award winners!
New TV Comedy

I think the name of the winner actually kind of makes my point for me. WHO??? You’ve got Chuck, Reaper and Pushing Daisies…all of which have to be better than the 468th attempt by Christina Applegate to make a hit comedy.
Favorite Movie Drama
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - winner
- Disturbia
- Premonition
I guess maybe the best choice in this group, but these nominations are just pathetic.
Favorite Movie
- Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End - winner
- The Bourne Ultimatum
- Transformers
Are you kidding me? The winner doesn’t even belong with the other two, both of which would be more deserving, but seriously…these are the only choices we have for favorite movie? Ugh.
Favorite Three-quel
- Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End - winner
- The Bourne Ultimatum
- Spider-Man 3
Again…what? The Bourne trilogy might be amongst the best ever and Pirates will be forgotten.The first one was good, but the rest were so over the top and hard to understand.
Today’s Tip: If you need to turn on your DVD English subtitles in an American-made movie, something is wrong.
So sad.
Favorite Sci-Fi Show
- Stargate Atlantis - winner
- Battlestar Galactica
- Doctor Who
Not that I’ve ever seen Stargate Atlantis, but come on…ugh. Can’t Battlestar Galactica ever get what it deserves, even if it’s a crappy awards show?
Favorite Indie Film
- Becoming Jane - winner
- A Mighty Heart
- Sicko
Once should have made this list, but whatever. A Mighty Heart should have won and Becoming Jane could have been more aptly titled, Becoming Bored.
Favorite TV Comedy
- Two and a Half Men - winner
- The King of Queens
- My Name is Earl
I still think it’s a tragedy that The Office and 30 Rock aren’t on this list at all. Otherwise, whoever wins, it just doesn’t matter.
And finally, the mother of all horrible winners….

Journeyman should have won, or Life, or Gossip Girl…who even watches Moonlight? Honestly, who even voted for these winners? Are they real people?
I truly think they are just made up winners and they are chosen because they have the worst ratings or sales figures and maybe this will increase them a bit.
Either way, who really cares anyways? The People’s Choice Awards suck, we all know it and I just wanted to point out how much they do.
I feel better now. I think my day might turn out to be alright after all.
Forget the lousy nomination list….somehow lets assume they threw up all nominees and this crappy list hit the table. Fine.

Personally, I am quite thrilled that two of my favorites won an award….’Two and a Half Men’ and ‘STARGATE ATLANTIS’….Yay!

I wouldn’t call this negative, in fact I would call it positive. I’m POSITIVE this list of winners blow =) . But to answer your question, not only did the Cap’n vote, but he voted TWICE!!

Actually, television on the whole “BLOWS”….it is getting harder all the time to find quality shows….I almost stopped watching television altogether when they cancelled SG-1….sigh….
I can’t believe Bourne got beat out - the rest of it is pretty much a joke. How sad that they are wasting bits and bites on this…
Billie…if you want quality, watch BSG…or Journeyman, or Lost…
But there is also a lot of junk out there.
I watched the first two episodes of ‘LOST’ and I liked it quite a bit and then got very bored especially when they started playing games with when they showed it and all the reruns so now I don’t watch it.
Unfortunately, I have never been able to get excited about ‘BSG’….(watched a couple of episodes)….though I know that lots of people like the show….
‘Journeyman’ I have not seen yet….but will give it a try…

Holy crap I’m glad I didn’t watch the awards! I would have been angry. Especially at BSG… people just don’t understand what they’re missing.
You couldn’t have watched them, not on TV, just like everything else.
While I agree, Moonlight isn’t probably the best TV Drama, I do watch it, and it actually is a very good show. Basically the adult version of Angel.
Maybe I should have stuck it out, because the pilot was awful.
But still, i don’t see how it’s the favorite show of the people.
