Crazy busy week in Mike’s world, so let’s just jump right into the DVD releases for 2/5/08. Don’t you just love new movies out on DVD?
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
This movie garnered Casey Affleck (above) an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. That alone makes me want to see this film, but the fact that Brad Pitt is in it makes it that much better. I’ve loved Pitt ever since Snatch.
You can get this on Blu-Ray too, darn you people.
The Brave One (Widescreen Edition)
Jodie Foster goes nuts on criminals after some thugs kill her fiance, played by Naveen Andrews from Lost. She survives the attack, but comes out of it a changed person with a vigilante mission.
I heard she did some amazing work here so this is definitely on the must-see list.
Little known indie flick, it has a strong 87% on Rotten Tomatoes and I know my wife can’t wait to see this. The movie stars Julie Delpy (above) from Before Sunrise, Before Sunset fame. Those two movies are amazing as well, and you should take the time to see them, as long as you can handle a lot of talking and walking.
Also in the movie is Adam Goldberg (also above), who has been in a million films and TV shows, but I’ll always remember his short stint on Friends as Chandler’s crazy roommate.
The plot from IMDB: Marion (Delpy) and Jack (Goldberg) try to rekindle their relationship with a visit to Paris, home of Marion’s parents — and several of her ex-boyfriends
And here are the rest:
