, the author of “No Country For Old Men.”
In “The Road,” Mortensen plays a father suffering from flashbacks of his dead wife (played by Charlize Theron) guiding his young son across a desolate and scorched Earth inhabited by roaming packs of cannibals, the remnants of a wiped out human civilization.
John Hilcoat who directed “The Proposition” will be directing. Guy Pearce and Robert Duvall are also rumored to be in talks to appear in the film.
