According to Nikki Finke’s amazing blog on the inner working of Hollywood, she says the deal that has been struck between the WGA and AMTPT has been agreed upon and the WGA leaders have approved it.
Now it’s up to the members to vote this Tuesday, meaning they could all be back to work on Wednesday, with the strike officially over.
Apparently the WGA leaders have called this new deal a “huge victory” and said the way the Golden Globes went down helped spur the studios to the negotiation table.
You can keep up on all the latest over at Nikki’s blog post that she’s continually updating.
No one knows how happy I’ll not having to write about this frakkin’ strike after Wednesday.
Amen to that. I can’t tell you how tired I am of being slammed by writer supporters that have no clue about what the strike is about.
Probably nice that you had a job during the strike unlike the writers…I guess you can look on bright side of things
I am certainly glad I had a job during the strike, although the danger of losing it was growing. I’m glad both sides took some initiative and worked hard to get a deal done. We’re thinking here that Wednesday everybody will be back to work (or at least rehiring their staff). Should be a good week. But a busy next couple months.
Stay busy, let’s get some shows out there!
