Really? Really? Is that what we think we want as Americans? Sitting on our fat asses, filling our maws with Cheetos™ and bon-bons, watching TPIR in HD?

Drew Carey and the contestants in High Definition?!?

    The HORROR!!!

    ROTFL :)

The prime time show is filmed in the same studio as the daytime version (Studio 33 a/k/a “The Bob Barker Studio”), albeit with a few changes for prime time. It is also where “Real Time with Bill Maher” is filmed, a show which recently went HD as of this season.

During the summer hiatus for Price, while they were still searching for a new host, the studio’s equipment was fully upgraded – they have been using HD cameras for a while, but all of other equipment was old.

See, I knew we had someone who knew :)

So if they have the HD equipment, why is it only used on primetime?

  5. Mr. Brown

It won’t be for much longer. The prime time specials, which were taped earlier this week, were the first shows to be taped in HD. The daytime shows should now be taping in HD, though these won’t air until March or even April.

I think the question is, do we want to see Carey in HD? Kidding aside, I love HD and mostly everything on it. There is only one person I don’t want to see HD-ified. Larry King. Can you imagine?

The very best show I’ve seen in HD is Sunrise Earth. Gorgeous scenery in gorgeous HD. “Lost” is also exquisite. Incidentally, I love your Lost recaps. Keep ‘em coming.

Kathy, thanks for stopping by and glad you love your Sony Bravia :)

I actually enjoy Sunrise Earth, but my wife makes fun of me if I sit and watch it for longer than 5 minutes, lol.

Glad you like the recaps, they’ll keep coming!
