No responses to “Damon and Greengrass to do a fourth Bourne film?”

    AWESOME!!!

I think they should keep the series going. This, in my opinion, could be an equally successful franchise a la Bond. I love the idea of them keeping this concept going – even if, in the future they do it without Damon.

Are you kidding me? Bourne is the new black! Okay, I’m even sure what that means, but Tina Fey said something similar on SNL and it was funny.

Anyway, I’m going to love it regardless if they make more, but what’s higher than Ultimatum. Identity, Supremacy, and Ultimatum. I wonder what title can trump that. Universal?

See what I did there, folks. That’s a called a pun. Universal is a film company and an all encompassing term… oh, nevermind… I think I’ve ruined my comedic timing.

If you have to explain your puns, then it’s not worth it.

This is what it should be:

… “I for one don’t know how I feel about this”, omg Mo, grow some cojones bro… THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!! Downside!?!?! There is no downside AND the 4th movie when out will be release on Blu-Ray!!! …oh wait, thats a downside for you…

  5. Mike

I think it takes CAJONES to NOT want a sequel :)

Ultimatum does not mean ultimate, though. ;)

I have just started re-reading The Bourne Identity. It wasn’t exactly written forever ago, but it WAS pre-net, and when Europe still had borders. That was interesting to think about. We’ve come a long way, baby!

Don’t forget that Eric Van Lustbader picked up the Bourne mantel after Ludlum died and has written two more Bourne novels so far. Let the series rage on!

Yeah Scott, I read that on The Movie Blog and they didn’t like the sequels too much, so they hoped they’d have some original stories, not those books.

But I’ve not read them of course.

  9. Neva

Ive read all the Ludlum novels which were fantastic and Ive read the Eric van Lustbader sequels. While he is a good writer of his own novels, White Ninja etc were great, Lustbader just hasn’t captured Jason Bourne. In the Bourne Betrayal, Jason Bourne is the eternal victim, not the unstoppable character he is in Ludlums originals.
Yes Bourne triumphs in the end, in a fizzy way, but the whole way through he’s just a mess and I basically felt like I was reading a completley different character, which I was.

I hope they keep doing the Bourne movies, but I hope they stay away from Lustbaders versions, ’cause its not Jason Bourne in those books.

Thanks Neva for that…good to have someone who’s read them stop by. That’s basically the same stuff I’ve heard out there…

I agree with you Neva. Ludlum established Jason Bourne to be unstoppable and the one controlling the situations. Lustbader however portrays him like a wimp at the start and a hero at the end. But it is not the same. I miss Ludlum’s espionage ideas and twists in his stories. It is not the same, I hope they get a really good screenwriter for the movie version.
