Mike, I don’t know if you ever watched The New Batman Adventures, but episode 2.6, “Legends of the Dark Knight” has three different takes on Batman, told by three kids who all claim to have seen him. One of the takes is a Frank Miller-style Dark Knight fighting the mutant leader, voiced by Michael Ironside.

Don’t know how long it’ll be around, but the video is currently right here.

Richard, that was pretty cool…they sort of skipped a bit to bring the two fights together, but all-in-all, it felt exactly like the novel.

Just purchased the second Y: The Last Mane chapter and also Watchmen.

You may want to flip through /Dark Knight Strikes Again/ before spending any money on it. It’s not like /Dark Knight Returns/. Frank Miller’s art has changed a lot and the writing is more campy and silly than before.

I read /DKR/ when I was 17 and it left me deeply depressed for about a week. I haven’t gone back and fully reread in the 20 years since then. I want to make sure I’m in a good mood and can handle it.

I think a lot of fans’ opinion of Superman was shaped by /DKR/, and not in a good way. So it has that to answer for.

I loved that cartoon episode with Michael Ironside, though.
