This week and next will see a few of the best titles from 2007 appearing on DVD, so warm up your Blockbuster and Netflix queues and add these gems.
Last week saw Casey Affleck in his Oscar-nominated role in The Assassination of Jesse James, and now he’s in another awesome movie this week.
If you see one new release this week, it should be Gone Baby Gone. Add to Netflix/Blockbuster queue!
Casey Affleck is part of a star-studded cast in his brother Ben’s directorial debut. Along with Casey, you also have Morgan Freeman, Ed Harris, Amy Ryan and Michelle Monaghan.
A little girl goes missing in a small suburb of Boston and when the entire police department is out looking for her, led by Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris, the girl’s aunt enlists some local detective help in Affleck and Monaghan.
The story is awesome, there are twists, dark moments and a few scenes that might make you jump out of your seat.
Definitely one of the best movies of 2007 and was probably a legit Best Picture contender.
It’s also out on Blu-Ray as well.
Not my favorite movie of the year by a long shot, I felt it was nowhere near up to par with the other Jane Austen books-to-movies like Pride and Prejudice, Sense & Sensibility and Emma.
But many did give it some decent reviews so it’s worth a shot for you Austen fans out there.
Mark Wahlberg, Joaquin Phoenix, Eva Mendes, and Robert Duvall star in this film which I haven’t had a chance to see yet. I heard decent things about this movie about two brothers on opposite sides of the law.
And here are the rest:
