In the vein of nothing new coming out of Hollywood…

Seriously do we need another Pirates movie? The first one was great, but the second two…ugh! I liked both National Treasure movies, they were good matinee fun, so I guess I’d be up for a third, altho maybe not at the theater. Cars 2, DVD at best, Tron 2, probably the same.

Memo to Hollywood; I’ve got some great books that would be great movies, if you want to raid my library, you’re more than welcome.

Big Depp fan and loved the first couple of Pirates movies, but seriously – not necessary to do another. Just let that money-grubbing juggernaut die in peace…

    Cars 2 – don’t mess with a good thing – please.

Did you say that back when Toy Story 2 was announced? You have to take into consideration a PIXAR sequel vs. a regular DISNEY sequel. Toy Story 2 was a superior movie to Toy Story 1, and in fact, IMO Toy Story 2 is one of Pixar’s best movies period.

As for National Treasure 3, they’re doing it strictly for money reasons. The movies are horrible, but hey, a lot of people watch them. Wanna complain about sequels? Complain about the audiences out there that provide a market for them–the market for them is actually bigger than the market for original stuff. That has been a trend for the last 20 years.

Tron 2 (or Tron 3D) has been in development for years, so that’s nothing new.

I like the idea of a new Pirates movie, but only if they don’t have any of that supernatural mumbo jumbo in it. What about a straight pirate movie? I wrote a pirate script that had some gory action in it, but there were no fighting pirate skeletons in it.
