Coolsies , I likes dis post =) Well written!!!

As you said, Lana cant leave soon enough, but I do enjoy Lex and the character that Rosenbaum makes it to be, and would hate for him to leave.

How can you have Superman without Lex?

That’s like night without day… peanut butter without jelly… marriage without sex… or gay strippers without David Hernandez

Oh wait, did I go too far with that?

Smallville is still a decent show, it’s production values are still great.

I agree about Lana, she is well past wearing out her welcome. But I’m not sure how you cannot like Chloe or Lois–especially Lois, who is a great character.

As for next season, it will be the final year. I think for the past 7 years, it’s been pretty much confined to the Lex/Clark relationship and they can use Lex leaving as an opening to expand the Smallville universe as Clark finally takes hold of his destiny to become Superman. I think next year should be very interesting, as the series will definitely have a much more epic scope to it.

I love Chloe, but Lois isn’t especially a “great” character to me…I mean, she’s alright, but the acting isn’t amazing.

Chloe is my favorite and once she found out Clark’s secret, I really enjoyed their relationship. She’s been such a support for him.

I’m a Lana fan and will be upsad if Clark does not end up with Lana afterall the hurts and rejections she has had with Clark that also drove her to mar Lex. Please Clana fans pls save OUR LANA……………

Sorry Guys I love Lana……….NO LANA AND CLARK TOGETHER NO SEASON 8 DVD…..NO BUY!!!!!

  8. Cap'n Schwartz

You wont be buying it then, as Lana is not in season 8 whatsoever, the series is going a totally different route. Although Smallville has pretty much followed its own route and mythology as far as Superman storyline goes, they are following the fact that Clark and Lana will not be together… They BARELY managed to keep Chloe on for season 8 as well, no Lana, No Lex, no Clarks parents, they will for the most part have him engaging agaisnt villians , even Doomsday, as previously reported here. Will be interesting to see if they can make the show interesting one last time.

I agree about Lana – she’s old news for me. But then, I’m a purist when it comes to this kind of thing. Let’s leave her in Smallville and let’s move onto the world. I want to see Clark get away from his obsessiveness with her and away from his moodiness as well. I want to see a hero…don’t we all? As for Chloe…well…the purist in me says no go, but she’s been the one interesting character for me other than Lionel. I can’t believe he’s gone. Lois – well…either move Lana on and let them create the chemistry that they need, or recast her to someone that is more believable in that role. I like Erica as Lois…but … well…can you start a fire with a match that’s not quite hitting the spot?

For me I have always loved Smallville and the characters, until it lost its essence and the shows dynamic changed – round about the 5th season.

I have not been naive to the fact that it was bound to change, and Lana was going to have to dissappear (extremely saddening) as well as Chloe. But i just loved what the show was in the first 3 to 4 seasons. Ever since then the shows landscape has shifted and characters have developed (not in a good way – I totally agree with the comments about Lana’s unrealistic changes!).

I guess what I’m saying is that I yearn for ‘the good old days’. That we could have had 7/8 seasons similar to that of the first 2 or 3 (yes i know that may have got boring for some fans, and that every TV Series needs to adapt in order to maintain interest. But i would not have lost interest, would u have?? just interested to know?). That the producers would suddenly announce that they have decided that it was not Superman growing up but another take on the whole Superman storyline! Clark would still have his parents, Pete would live next door, Chloe the best friend and intrepid journalist, and Clark would superspeed off into the sunset with his love, lana, in his arms…

ahh nostalgia can really reduce one to a sad state indeed.

oh yes and Lex was still a good friend with a slight tendency to do the wrong thing, and Lionel was just the scheming, heartles businessman.

I completely agree with the doe eyed Lana being a pain in the a*%&#^! after a while and either she needed to be killed off one of those 800 times or leave a season or two here & there. As for Lex, so sorry to see him go. You have to have the Nemesis.

I will miss the character’s that are not going to be on this season, but I really do enjoy this show. I think I’ll miss Linel Luthor the most. The absense of Lex will be strange, but it will be interesting to see what other villians will come up now that Lex is missing from the story line. I am not a fan of Lana and am looking forward to the romance between Lois and Clark to develop.

    Hey guys,
first of all let me say i’m quite glad to see people talking about the great show that smallville definitely is.
Still, it’s quite strange and it gets me a bit astounded to read Lana and Clana’s story being ended up isn’t everyone’s cup of tea since I found it during the first seasons pretty cool, but now it’s over, and getting me more and more bored each time I watch Lana lovely pretty face… she’s kinda making late Clark’s growth to Superman which has to be done in S8.
What’s more, everyone knows Clark will end up with Lois Lane, that’s famous isn’t it?
About Chloe, you guys will see she actually has a big role in S8.
Lex’s absense seems strange at first sight, since he was very good acting and his role was getting more and more major, but it perfectly fits well in the first episodes I find, and suspensful as we don’t really know what happened to him at first, eventhough Tess Mercer’s role isn’t that great.
Maybe it’s time Smallville starts afresh Clana’s story, it has too much taken its toll on the show,
    let’s now see Clark’s future,
    Cihan.
