Should the new Indiana Jones movie have been called Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Alien Skull? USA Today has a new article about how Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull could help save the movie industry this summer. The article also has a first look at a new poster for fourth installment of the Indiana Jones film that brings up some really interesting questions. Check it out below:

KINGDOM OF THE ALIEN SKULL?
The new poster for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the CrystalSkull confirms something alien is afoot.
The first poster for the film (due May 22) featured part of the title relic, but there was always something odd about the eye socket. In the follow-up, also by sci-fi/fantasy movie artist Drew Struzan, it’s clear the skull is not at all human. Add to that the recent trailer, with its shot of a crate labeled “Roswell, New Mexico 1947,” and you don’t need to be a professor of archaeology to put the pieces together.
Other clues: Looks as if our hero will face his least-favorite animal and the locals at some Maya ruins. Karen Allen (who also was in 1981’s original) seems to be enjoying herself, though.
So, what do you think? Is Spielberg going to turn Indiana Jones into a sci-fi tale? Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Is it really any different than what he did when he added supernatural elements to the other Indy movies?
I love it…I really do. It’s an old franchise that dealt with old Biblical artifacts, etc., but perhaps injecting a little alien artifact in there will be pretty sweet.
And I think it deals with Roswell a bit, so it just seems perfect.
The other thing is, in the trailer, we see the USA flag flying…meaning this probably takes place here? If so, that makes more sense…a cover-up by the US Government…
I can’t freaking wait!
Ugh – what will the fifth movie in the franchise bring us? A v. P v. IJ?

So long as this doesn’t become some weird Scientology propaganda, then it’s all good. It’s been a few years since we’ve seen any good Roswell movies, so perhaps this will give us something to look forward to.

I’m excited! I haven’t seen a good alien movie since “Signs.” …I’m still having nightmares about those water-phobic freaks…anyway… It’s INDIANA JONES! This movie is would rock if it was about that sock puppet, Lambchop.
