There are some previews for horror movies that look pretty scary, but I know I could probably sit through them and be okay. In fact, I feel that way about most of them, although The Ring was pretty freaky looking. I did see it, but it took two sittings.
Well, here comes along a new trailer for The Strangers and I almost couldn’t even finish that.
Alright, I exaggerate a bit, but honestly, this is one of the scariest previews I’ve ever seen. Just think about staying in a nice vacation home with your significant other out in the woods. That sounds nice…peaceful even. Someone’s getting lucky for sure.
But then throw in three scary people wearing white masks ranging from a hockey mask to the face of a doll. And all they seem to be doing is trying to kill you, but in the most terrorizingly ways possible.
And don’t miss the little note during it…”based on a true story.”
Yeah, I didn’t need to know that.
The Strangers stars Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman and is directed by Bryan Bertino, which is his debut in that capacity and also his first writing credit.
There is a scene in the trailer where Tyler is standing in the kitchen off to the left, looking towards the camera, and you see one of the assailants walk in from behind and just stand there.
Umm…no thank you.

I want to add, this poster rocks. I love the sickly orange color, and showing Tyler crawling across the floor covered in cuts and blood is awesome. It tells you exactly what the movie is about.

See, I’m more of the mindset that Chuck Norris checks his closet for Jack Bauer before HE goes to sleep every night…
Okay, so that was freaky. The music was perfect. I jumped out of my seat while watching it, because someone came up from behind me and started talking to me…Yeah, scary.
I paused the trailer when the three psychos were looking down on the couple sitting, and the women have doll masks, and the man is wearing a cloth one… No hockey masks.
Yeah, I noticed the no hockey masks on my 3rd viewing…I swear one of them looked like that, but probably good they didn’t use one…too Friday the 13th.
Just another movie at a cabin in the woods–the reference wasn’t so much to Army of Darkness than it was to the whole series (especially Evil Dead 1 and 2).
Man, if those freaks broke into Jack Bauer’s house that would be the longest freakin’ night of their lives…or maybe the shortest…
