The first pics of the coolest G.I. Joe of all, Snake Eyes, have finally hit the net. Snake Eyes was always my favorite character when I was growing up. I’m sure I wasn’t alone. These pics make him look pretty cool. If all the characters look this cool the G.I. Joe movie might actually be better than we thought.

USA Today also posted an article about Snake Eyes and the film that has some interesting information coming from the director, Stephen Sommers.
About Snake Eyes, played by Ray Park (Darth Maul in the first Star Wars prequel), Sommers says, “He’s the world’s greatest ninja, but he’s also next-generation. He’s not afraid to use a sword one second, and a split-second later he’s pulling out his Glock. His chief nemesis is arguably the world’s other great ninja, Storm Shadow. The two grew up together, were blood brothers and now are mortal enemies.”
Sommers also breaks some news I haven’t heard anywhere else. He says that “Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays multiple roles, including the Cobra Commander. I think we knew that Gordon-Levitt was supposed to play a bad guy, but no one knew that he was playing THE bad guy. This is big news. You can read the entire article here.
I love Gordon-Levitt, but not sure he’s going to be make a great bad guy…I guess we’ll see about that.
I like the idea that this is an origins story…will be helpful for guys like me who may not have been super into GI Joe.
Awesome post, this is very cool lookin….
We’re the same age, Mike. You weren’t into G.I. Joe as a kid? You must not have been very cool.
My code name on the playground was “Snake Eyes,” and in my mind I looked exactly like the Snake Eyes in those pictures. Good times.
Nerd!
Snake Eyes was my favorite GI Joe figure, though I think he was a lot of people’s favorites. He and Storm Shadow.
Ray Park is a great choice as Snake Eyes. The pics look great.
I was into the cartoon, the action figures, the comics…I was/am a nerd. LOL
Favorite comic was Silent Interlude (G.I. Joe issue #21, 1984). Entire comic without dialogue.
[...] Pop Critics gave you a first look at Ray Park as Snake Eyes back in March. Snake Eyes is, of course, the coolest of all G.I. Joe characters. [...]
