Why anyone wanted to remake The Wolf Man is beyond me. I guess the original had its charms and is a sort of classic in its own way. But Hollywood is on a mission to remake every movie they’ve ever made so The Wolf Man made the list. This time The Wolf Man will star Benicio Del Toro as the “wolf man” himself. Anthony Hopkins and Hugo Weaving are also in the movie.
About the only thing that really makes me even remotely interested in this film (other than Benicio Del Toro who is always interesting) is the fact that it is written by Andrew Kevin Walker who wrote the fantastic screenplay for Se7en back in the day. He hasn’t done much since then, but maybe that’s a good thing.

I’m not saying anything bad about the Wolf Man because those pics are down right scary… but seriously, Anthony Hopkins will do any movie nowadays. I remember a time when the man had some standards and it said something if he was in a movie. Ah, the good ole days.
Good points Jina, what happened to that guy? Once he was knighted, it’s like he had no challenges left to conquer, so now he’s just pulling a paycheck when he can.
Still, those pictures are cool, and with Del Toro, Hopkins and Jackman, plus that writer from Se7en…it could be interesting.
Hopkins is the man, tread lightly.
Not sure why we needed another Wolfman, but it does have a great case and writer, so who knows.

Well, Hopkins was the man… I have to agree with Jina on this one. He’s definitely lost some standards in the roles he chooses. He’s not the only one, of course. Morgan Freeman is dangerously on the edge as well.
I loved the original B&W of this. Watched it a bunch of times. This is one of the few movies re-makes that I am glad to see them do. With todays technology in CG and makeup, this should prove to be exceptional.
