Nicholas Cage is back on the big screen this fall with a new movie, Bangkok Dangerous, a remake of the 1999 film with the same name.
The movie is being done by the same brothers who did the original, so it’s different than a normal remake.
Cage plays a hitman who falls for a women and befriends an errand boy while he’s in Bangkok on a series of jobs.
I don’t know what I think about this preview or this movie. It opens with Cage narrating, and I feel like I’ve seen a million movies just like it. An assassin, on his own, talking to himself about how lonely his life is.
It’s been done before.
But the film was hugely popular in Hong Kong and I hear the ending of that movie was pretty nifty, so perhaps this has hope. Either way, check out the trailer below, followed by the poster.
I assume we’re hearing his thoughts as the narration…since the assassin in the original was a deaf-mute.
It’s Nicolas Cage, so it will probably be awful. But hey, midwesterners will probably flock to it in droves!
It’s gonna need some good reviews to get this one in the queue.

You know at one time he was considered for the next Superman? Egads…
He’s good at his particular brand of overacting or brooding, but he’s branched out into so many other things that he ISN’T good at. Plus, the movies where they try to make him look like he isn’t balding are just too hard to accept, much like seeing Bruce Willis with that stringy, fake long hair.
Cage as Superman… So we just thought that movie couldn’t have been any worse…
Cage was good in The Rock, and Gone in 60 Seconds. Other than that he blows chunks (yeah, this is going to be phrase of the day me thinks). He was pushing himself to be Superman in Tim Burtons proposed joke of a Superman movie (yeah it would have been comic like, thank god it never happened), and burton bought off on him being it, man that would of BLEW BIG HUNKIN CHUNKS!
Cap’n, I never saw 60 Seconds, but I heard from most people it was God-awful…
Isn’t Cage balding? It would make for a pretty funny Superman if he was an old, tired, balding superhero, lol.
