I'm a huge Beatles/Lennon fan but I might still see it. I mean... I don't really like it when people get all upset about people being "glamorized" or whatever. I don't think that's the point. It's interesting to think of what would make a person do something like this. And I must say that from the picture I am impressed by the lengths Leto went to for this role. I have no interest in seeing this film that glorifies not just a scumbag killer but one who killed the greatest rock and roll singer/songwriter of all time. He stole many years of great music from us and for that, his name will never pass these lips nor will I ever forgive him. And my money will not help to support a show about him.

I think everyone involved with this movie should be ashamed that they had to stoop so low as to make a film about the lowest form of scum on the planet,and make a piece of crap like this. It boggles my mind how SO many desperate people are coming up with ways of making money on the Beatles. I have had a Beatles Tribute Band called Imagine The Beatles Tribute since 1991, and I would do gigs for free if I didn’t have to run it like a lagitamate business like I do. I will do this as long as my body lets me, because I do it out of the love for the Beatles and their music. Shame on all of you involved with this movie. http://www.imaginingthebeatles.com

Of course, Hollywood has no interest in making movies that are not with an element of disgust or controversy (aside from the recent ‘Across The Universe’).

I am a Lennon and Beatle fan and an author.

While I understand the need to explore the darker side of things, I think making a movie about the killer of John is about as crass as commercialism gets. Writing from the point of view of the killer would have been subtle and not offensive, if done properly. I did it within the context of some of my poems. However, I did it with ‘taste.’

It is a very sad thing indeed. I would not want to see this movie. It has nothing new to say.

Actually, this movie sounds interesting to me just because it would be interesting to see exactly why he went from going to meet John Lennon to killing John Lennon in three days.

Well, you may be right. But then, it’s possible they could portray him as a Hannibal Lecter where we learn about the character and try to understand him but are never really asked to feel sorry for him or excuse his actions. You never know.
