Nice – now that was classic. Just as funny as my April Fool’s joke back in 1989…ah, the memories.

Are we all supposed to know what that was?

  3. The Trousered Ape

    Yes – I am the Ape afterall… :)

It was pretty funny (if I do say so myself).

I was working for Taco Bell at the time and me and a buddy (who worked with me) decided to show up at a competitor’s Taco Bell down the street and act as new employees. So we show up with our uniforms on, tell them that so-and-so hired us (their General Manager) and that we were told to report that morning. So we started getting trained, etc. and when the lunch rush hit we “quit” and walked out.

I completely fell for this too! Matt and I were searching on the internet trying to figure out why nothing was on the front page of ESPN. :)

LOL…. classic…. this is one of those that makes you wonder what happened next? So tell us, did they ever trace you back to your store? What happened?

  6. The Trousered Ape

To my knowledge they never did – probably thought it was just a couple of punk-loser kids. :)

Yes, Ape – what happened? I know you’re still working there so it couldn’t have been too severe of a punishment. :)

  8. Scotty Dub

That is a good one, sorry I missed it live.

@Ape, the big question is were they right? Were you just a couple of punk kids? :-) Either way, nice 4/1 prank.

At the time – yeah, I was pretty obnoxious and ornery as a kid.

Now not so much – I’m much calmer and less acerbic, although I do have flashes of it every now and again.
