Alright, it was flat-out awesome to have NBC’s comedy powerhouses back in action last night. You know, it’s kind of funny to think about how Thursday night’s used to be Must See TV with Friends, Seinfeld, Will and Grace, etc., on NBC, and then those shows went off the air and we all yawned.
Well, NBC is back. I know I don’t watch My Name is Earl, but others do and find it funny, so the fact that they have four popular comedies on in a row is pretty amazing.
The Office was hilarious as always, but almost a bit more awkward than funny at times this week. I still love the dysfunction that exists between Michael and Jan. They seem so in love, they call each other babe, they have a camera set up over their bed, yet Michael has to sleep at the foot of it on a couch and can’t have his beer sign up.
I loved the song written by Hunter, and JIm stealing it at the end. I was hoping the song would at some point say…”and her name was Jan….” so we knew it was written about her, but that never happened.
Good stuff, here’s one of my favorite clips from last night I liked. You can watch the entire episode over on Hulu.com (30 Rock and Scrubs too).
30 Rock…I know not as many people watch this as do The Office, but it’s just as funny sometimes, if not more so, and written just as well. Last night’s episode had a mysterious quote in the paper said by one of the NBC employees, who were all busy watching the hit reality series, MILF Island, which just cracks me up.
The way Alec Baldwin is so in love with MILF Island is hilarious. Anyways, here is a clip below. Liz Lemon is the one who said the horrible quote, and who also can’t stand MILF Island, so you’ll see how she in fact acts just like one of the MILFs.
“Listen to me little Abner, keep your fried baloney hole shut!”
Hilarious!
I didn’t get to finish watching Scrubs, but I enjoyed what I saw so far. Turk speaking Spanish now, and getting his wife to make him “brinner” and ignoring sex is classic Scrubs.
And the little high-five moment between J.D. and Turk…when J.D. adds the “down low”…hilarious!
All in all, a good return for NBC’s comedy night…looking forward to next week as usual.
The Dinner Party on The Office was so hilariously uncomfortable it was brilliant. I don’t think any of there shows up until last nights had been THAT uncomfortable. Jim had some great camera looks as did Pam. Last night was hysterical – an absolute riot.

I loved it when Dwight showed up and Pam quietly said “awesome” in the background.

I have not seen that many episodes of 30 Rock, but the ones I have watched have been hilarious. I really need to make an effort to watch it on a regular basis.

That was pretty funny – but how about when Jim tried to leave – rotfl – oh man. Or the look he had while he was standing in the candle room.

Definitely. When he turned around in the candle room with a look of pain on his face. I think he mouthed “oh my God.”
I also loved it when Andy was silently singing along with Hunter’s song. He is consistently funny.

Ape, the clip I have above is the one with Jim trying to leave – Loved it!
Although I had planned on watching my 3rd episode of The Office last night, I was too mad at Idol, and boycotted tv for the rest of the night… so thanks for the links above Mo, pretty funny…
Jan telling Pam “thanks for the wine, it will be great for cooking” was classic!
@ Steven – completely agree. Pam’s awesome comment was hilarious.
Pam is awesome…that’s why the comment was awesome.
Cap’n boycotting all TV just because of Idol is hilarious
@ Kory – “Jan telling Pam “thanks for the wine, it will be great for cookingâ€Â? was classic!” – that was brilliant!
The Cap’n boycotting anything is funny – he should boycott commenting for a few days!

The TV – “Sometimes I just stand here and watch it for hours.”
Just thought of another one (not so subtle this time). Michael takes a drink of his wine and says “this wine has a nice oaky afterbirth.” Clueless.

“THAT’S A $200 PLASMA TV!” Freaking hilarious.
@Mike -how can you start Scrubs and not finish it? W/O commercials it’s like 20 mins? Get busy mister, it’s a good one.

When your wife falls asleep, and you have sympathy sleep pains, then yuo just turn it off to watch another day
The Plasma TV was probably the funniest part of the episode
@ Mike – the ‘down low’ on scrubs was very unsettling.

esp if she’s in the motherly way.
