We’ve gotten our hands on a promo pic of the entire cast of the 7th season of Fox’s “24.” As you probably know by now the show was originally scheduled to premiere on January 13, 2008, but was postponed when the writer’s strike (and Kiefer Sutherland’s jail stint) prevented the show from finishing enough episodes to be able to show the entire season without interruption. Fox decided to postpone the season until January of 2009 when it could be shown without a break.
However, there will be a two hour prequel film this fall that bridges season 6 with season 7. I’m guessing the film will probably be helpful because it sounds like a lot has changed. Apparently we’re going to find CTU disbanded after the events of season 6 and Jack Bauer on trial for his actions (the guy can’t catch a break). However, a major national security incident occurs when the firewall responsible for protecting America’s government computer infrastructure is breached. I’m guessing they’re going to need Jack to get “involved” again.
The photo above features from left to right: FBI Agents Sean Hillinger (Rhys Coiro), Janis Gold (Janeane Garofalo), Larry Moss (Jeffrey Nordling), and Renee Walker (Annie Wersching) who is also in an “adversarial relationship with Jack Bauer, Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard), who everyone thought was killed in a previous season, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), Bill Buchanan (James Morrison), Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), First Gentleman Henry Taylor (Colm Feore), the show’s first female president Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones), and Chief of Staff Ethan Kanin (Bob Gunton).
A lot of people weren’t that happy with last season so it remains to be seen if the long hiatus will be good for the ratings or bad. I’m a huge fan of the show, but I too felt last season was lacking in a lot of ways (the music stunk for sure). I’m hoping the extra time was used wisely be the show’s producers to get back to all the things we loved about it from the very beginning while still allowing the characters and situations to grow intelligently. (I’m not sure how many more times Jack is going to have to prove himself to be a patriot before I’m going to scream.) Let’s hope they get it right.
OMG, Janeane Garafalo! I love it!
Somehow forgot about her, but just seeing any 24 news gets me excited, I don’t know why
Man, Jan 2009 is a long way off. I wonder when the 2 hour movie will be, at least that might be something. I used to really like Tony on ths show, I liked when he teamed with Jack, it was sort of a Starsky and Hutch combo, will be tough to see him go to the dark side. Another character I really like is Bill Buchanan (James Morrison), hes great, I’m glad he makes a return for sure. A totally underrated tv show was Space: Above & Beyond, where James charater RAW-KED!!! This is a series that only ran one season but is available on DVD now (which the Capn highly recommends).
Yeah, I liked Space: Above and Beyond, but I didn’t remember James Morrison was in it. I haven’t seen it since it went off the air.
Dont remember James in it?!!?! hows that possible… he was Lt. Col. Tyrus Cassius “T.C.” McQueen , he always had all the great quotes and motivational speeches for the team…
@ Cap’n – is that any relation to Mr. T?
I hope that this next season is better – it has been starting to wane a bit over the last few years. I’m wondering if the format is beginning to lose its appeal.

No relation to Mr. T, but his shows have been known to bring bored tv viewers out of comas!
I don’t doubt it. He has the magic “T”ouch

@Cap’n – Didn’t that show come on in like ’95? That’s a long time to remember something. I already forgot everything before ’94 or so…
I just ordered a sweet Jack Bauer for President shirt from http://www.PantherTees.com. They have a bunch of Jack Bauer stuff. They said not to tell anyone, but here is a 10% discount code, “pts10“ (it’s case sensitive, so copy and paste it). Enjoy!
Nice shirts! “It smells like updog in here.”
Awesome!
I’m looking for the “He who laughs last, thinks slowest” t-shirt…
