If any of you were lucky enough to watch the Planet Earth series in high-definition last year, you were probably just as amazed as I was at the images and visuals we got to see.
I’ve never been so engrossed in nature programming in all my life. The scenes from space of a massive dust storm crossing the Sahara Desert was simply awesome. The little details about a desert in South America that gets 99% of its moisture from dew collected on the leaves of plants condensed from fog that rolls in from the ocean was brilliant.
Not to mention the super high resolution shots of a great white shark bursting out of the water in an attack on a poor little seal.
If you never did get a chance to watch it, I suggest you try to find it somewhere.
Or you can wait until the next Earth Day, April 22nd, 2009 to watch a feature-length version of the series called “Earth“.
Disney Nature, which seems to be a new distributor of nature documentaries, is the company behind this film., James Earl Jones appears set to be the narrator.
According to the trailer, it looks like we’ll follow three “families” of animals throughout the film and learn what happens to each of them.

They know Earth Day isn’t a real holiday right? Anyway, should be pretty sweet.
These documentaries just prove everything was designed. It’s awesome!
Kory, totally agree and I meant to include that in my article. I would totally suspect it would be on IMAX, otherwise the beauty of the HD photography would be lost on a normal screen.

I meant a normal THEATER screen, my TV rocks.
I think it is safe to assume it will show on IMAX. This is right up there with their type of shows/movies.
