I really hope we haven’t peaked in the comment department, because last month was off the hizzle.
(That’s “hook” for all you non-rappers out there.)
In March, we had ONE guy over 100 comments, and that was the Trousered Ape with 102. The overall record was 167 back months ago, so things had tapered off.
Until April. That’s when the shiznit got all kinds of heated up.
Cap’n Schwartz finished the month with FIVE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-THREE comments (533). That’s just disgustingly awesome. I have no words to describe it. Instead, I’ll let him:
I know there are a lot of Ape fans out there, heck, I’m one of em, and some of you might be disappointed that his continued string of Top Commenting is a thing of the past, but we all know that change is inevitable… well, except from vending machines. But before anyone starts to criticize the Capn’s sheer DOMINANCE this last month I want to suggest the following;Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes… that way, if you do criticize him, you will be a mile away and have his shoes!!

The amazing thing is, The Ape finished in a “close” second with 305, and we ended up with six of you all told that were over 100 comments.
So thank you all for making April a blast. I am pretty sure it was the first month that Jason and I really had a hard time keeping up with everything you guys had to say, which we’re totally pumped about.

I think AnaDVR, formally known as Ana, is a force to be reckoned with. After a slow start in April, she kicked it into high gear to finish the month out in the top 5. Impressive.

I think Cap’n and The Ape actually wrote more words than Mike and I did over the month.
Ana and Jina ran pretty neck and neck the whole month before Ana barely passed her up there at the last. I know it’s not a contest, but should be exciting to watch. Ana, are you officially AnaDVR now?
We had 16 people with double digit comments and 6 with over a hundred. Thanks to all you who constantly participate and really make this a lot of fun for the rest of us.
And as amazing as the numbers were last month, I think we can do even better this month (well, maybe not the Cap’n). I’d love to see 30 or 40 people with double digit comments.
I don’t believe the statement above is really from the Cap’n – there are no spelling/grammatical errors and it is completely coherent.
Don’t get offended, Cap’n. How else could someone comment that much, without some mishaps along the way!

The comments really stepped up this last month, and the best part is, you guys totally had me laughing. Work can be a total drag, but you guys seriously make sure I laugh once a day, great comments all… =)

Now how cool would a Nova movie be?!? If you followed the Annhiliation series, which took place at the same time as Civil War, Nova came back to earth and once he learned about Civil War, met with Ironmna who asked him to register or be arrested. I was hoping Nova woulda beat the yellow out of Ironman at the time based on him being upset about the petty differnces on earth vs what he went through in Annihilation….

Congrats Cap’n and Ape! I was never really in it and I can honestly say I don’t think I can do anymore than I did this month. It was hard enough holding off Kory and the wives. I’d say next month my top 3 streak is in serious jeopardy.

I think you’re right. The Cap’n would post about 50 comments on how he doesn’t want to have to pay and we’d make money off every single one. Good idea.

We could always charge more for the unique pleasure of being able to comment on this wonderful website. Cap’n would pay at least $1. We might have to set up a Google Adwords type auction for comments to see how much we can make.

Wow, I was mentioned for double digits. (Blushes) Congrats to the winners! 533 is amazing Cap’n! 305 is nothing to sneeze at Ape! I think this site is fantastic and I hope the marketing companies pay attention if that is what you are looking for. I just really like hanging out here to read the entertainment news and especially enjoy the wonderful comments and banter.
