I remain hopeful for these films. Seeing a new Indiana Jones Movie is like getting to capture a few minutes of your childhood again. I remember seeing Raiders as a kid and my dad holding his hand in front of my eyes on the scary parts. I don't give much credit to reviewers, unless it is from my friends. I also like M. Night's movies so far, so I think I should like this new one, but the trailer I saw was a bit disterbing, but I will be hopeful.

@ Dad - See, I think I'll like Indy just because it's Indy. But I also LOVED Unbreakable, Signs and did enjoy The Village, so maybe M. Night's movies aren't always something everyone likes.

Lady in the Water sucked though.

I am thinking if I was a 10yr old boy or however old I was when the 1st Indiana Jones movie came out I'd be like this is frickin awesome. However being the old man I am now I think its going to be the same over the top stunts and mice traps, with Harrison Ford's smirk (I have to say I dislike him for leaving his wife and marrying Callista Flockheart and getting that stupid earing, it's almost as bad as Lawrence Taylor's ). I think Batman will rock. I hope the Happening is good, a lot of people didn't like Unbreakable, Signs and The Village which I thought were all good. Didn't see the lady in the pool or whatever his last movie was.

I'm definitely bummed about some of the bad reviews coming out. But if you look back, every summer has them. Unfortunately some of the movies we were really excited about may not turn out to be as great as we'd hoped.

I'm still holding out that Indy, Dark Knight, The Happening, and others are as good as advertised.

I disagree with BIM in that I like that we get info on movies before I go drop $8 or more. The internet helps me decide what to see in the theater and what can wait for DVD.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that Indian Jones and The Dark Knight will pan out. I am pretty much ignoring the lukewarm reviews on Indy.

BIM, I agree with you...although the movies I want to see without knowing much about them, I tend to go on the day they come out. Otherwise, I like to see what people say before I waste my money.

I just try to avoid the sucky films most of the time, because I just don't have the ability to watch EVERYTHING that comes out.

But I also think you are right...it was a nicer world when we didn't have so much information about stuff coming out.

And maybe you have a good idea...maybe I should stop paying attention to those future reviews and just judge them on my own.

Don't get me wrong - I love the internet and THIS site, but I do long for the days when I was a kid.

Back then you might be aware of who was in a movie and who was directing it, but that was about it.

My wife and I steer clear of most teasers and trailers, especially for movies we want to see/own. We have just seen too many in the past that either showed the majority of the best scenes or revealed plot spoilers (National Treasure, The Interpreter, etc).

Also - reviews...shmeviews...we don't see or skip anything based on reviews. I liked Siskel & Ebert years ago but they often revealed too much also. I want to see the movie in the theater without knowing every detail, thank you. :)

I just don't know if I trust all the bad buzz. Speed Racer, yeah, okay. But I think George Lucas had a legitimate point when he said that people were going to dump on Indy no matter what kind of movie they made. For whatever reason, there's always a backlash on certain movies before they come out. It didn't used to be so bad, but the internet has really enhanced the negative effect of this sort of "buzz." I don't know if Indy and The Happening will be good or not, but I'm always hesitant to believe the early reports that come out and say that something is really bad...besides, Shyamalan definitely has haters.
