The Battlestar Galactica universe may not end entirely with the completion of season four. Word is spreading that there is a good chance we could see a few more BSG movies and that there once again will be webisodes over the summer.
This is actually pretty awesome news for us fans who are just not ready for it to be over.
First off, there will be webisodes again this summer, that will (get this) connect the first ten episodes of season four to the final ten. How they connect them is totally unknown, but I really enjoyed last year’s web shorts, so I can’t wait for these.
Perhaps even bigger than the webisode news is the fact that there are talks about doing 1-3 more BSG movies, much like Razor late last year. The entire group is still together, they still have to produce the final 10 episodes, so why not do it now instead of bringing them back later?
The most RELIEVING fact about the idea of these movies is that they WILL NOT affect the series finale or change it in any way. These will be prequel-type films, like Razor, which would maybe fill in some blanks, show us cool backstories, whatever.
The idea of more BSG is always good.
Lastly, there is a bit of a weird mystery going on over at the SciFi forums. If you recall the Last Supper photo from March:

If you’ll notice, Caprica Six has been moved AWAY from Baltar, and the flame that Roslin was lighting is now missing.
What the frak?
One could see these clues to mean a few obvious things. One, Roslin’s flame is close to going out as she draws closer to her inevitable death from cancer. And two, as Baltar learns his destiny, it seems his need for Six may be diminishing, thus their separation in the photo.
Or…it could all just be a big gag and doesn’t mean squat! But since it’s on the official site, I think it’s meaningful.

I noticed this several weeks ago, actually, around the time of Faith. I mentioned it at a fansite on LJ but got pretty ‘turned down’ by people putting it off as an editing error. See, I would think that if it was just Head!Six being moved away (perhaps done for spacing issues, etc.), but Laura’s gauntlet being burned out is quite a big thing to change.
To me, I don’t think it represents her growing closer to death, because the change happened around the time that Faith aired, and this was a significant chance for Laura in of that she was viewing life, destiny, and her imminent death in completely different eyes; you could almost say she had regained a will to live that she never realized was gone.
I like the ‘no longer playing with fire’ comment from a user above, as well.
