We’ve got some good Captain America stuff for you today, although the bit about his shield was something I meant to post last week or the week before.
Slipped my mind as usual with the unfounded amount of information I go through on a daily basis. (Of course, if anyone is looking to help, we could use it!)
SciFi posted some comments Kevin Fiege (president of Marvel studios) made on the 21st to some online journalists.
It’s going to be set during World War II, exactly like the comic books and Fiege pretty much killed the sick rumors that Matthew “look at my chest” McConaughey would play Captain America.
The Captain America movie will set up the Avengers film that will release 6-weeks later.
And also…he talked about the biggest easter egg from Iron Man, where someone spotted what he thought was Captain America’s shield on Tony Stark’s workbench.
Turns out, that WAS correct. Here are the pictures below. The first is the scene from the theatrical trailer which had nothing in it.

Here is the second screen capture, which was from the movie. It shows an added “element” that obviously came after the trailer was made, so it stood out to someone as an easter egg.

A pretty sweet little addition to the Iron Man story to know he was working on some sort of fancy shield that Captain America will end up using.
Gotta love the way Marvel is handling their universe of superheroes.
Feige also confirmed release dates for Marvel’s future slate of superhero movies: Iron Man 2 on April 30, 2010; Thor on June 4, 2010; The First Avenger: Captain America on May 6, 2011; and The Avengers on July 1, 2011.
Clearly Avengers is going to be an Origin story. With Cap an epic WWII story, it will end with him being frozen…and perhaos ending credits wil have him found or that wil be the pening scene of the Avengers. How cool is it this is all coming together!??! Cant wait….
Methinks we need to cast the Avengers via on line vote perhaps.

thank you for the easter egg in ironman i saw the movie the day it came out and 3 times after and i havent seen it but i will keep looking

I dunno Dimagalr, that seems like a massive undertaking…
Maybe a cartoon would be better, but I just don’t see how they could do it justice in a movie.
