Sometimes a new movie just gets me excited based on who is in it. But occasionally, the AMOUNT of “whos” that are in it is what really gets me intrigued.
This new preview for He’s Just Not That Into You has such an amazing cast of young actors, I’m totally blown away:
Jennifer Connelly, Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johansson, Drew Barrymore, Justin Long, Kevin Connolly, Bradley Cooper and Ginnifer Goodwin.
If you don’t know who Kevin Connolly is, he plays Eric on HBO’s Entourage. Justin Long of course is the kid from Ed, Dodgeball and the highly underrated Accepted. And Bradley Cooper played Will Tippin on Alias and also the head chef Jack Bourdain on Kitchen Confidential (another underrated, short-lived TV series).
Goodwin is the lead and she’s recently been in Big Love on HBO.
It’s being directed by Kevin Kwapis, who has nine episodes of The Office under his belt as a director, and four as a producer. Sadly his most recent work was License to Wed, but he also directed About a Boy and The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, both very good films.
The movie is set in Baltimore and is basically one of those relationship-based plots where everyone’s stories intersect. The main focus here though is on the challenges of reading…or misreading…human behavior.
It’s based on the book of the same name by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo.
I love these kinds of movies when done well, but when you toss in a cast like this one, it’s a no-brainer. I have to see it.
@Mike, way to not give any cred to Justin Long for appearing in Die Hard IV, since ole McClane won the PopCritics BA tourney we dont want to promote him anymore than we have to!!
I couldn’t name all the movies he’d been in!
But yeah, that would have been a more recent one to choose…still, you should see Accepted…it plays on UHD from time to time I think. Or maybe it was HBO, I can’t remember.
Thanks Cap’n, I was just about to berate MO for not mentioning Die Hard4 as well. lol
Haven’t seen Accepted, I’ll have to check it out. It’s either that or the 7 night premiere of SYTYCD…ugh!

7 night premiere?
Scott is all about tearing down shows today… what’s up Scott? Feeling blue that summer TV is about to start? Buck up, little camper, there is always TV shows on DVD to watch… or Baseball.
I got my big TV Shows on DVD blog post coming tomorrow hopefully!
Maybe it just FEELS like a 7 day premiere.
At any rate I’ve got Band of Brothers, that should keep me busy for a while.
@Jina -just tryin’ to keep the ‘critics’ in Pop Critics.
Besides if any of these ‘summer’ shows were any good, they’d be on during the regular season (see SYTYCD, American Gladiators, Americas Got Talent, Step up and Dance, Celebrity Circus, Farmer needs a wife, I could go on all day)

oh no you didn’t scott!
**defiantly snaps fingers and does a danny noriega head shake**
Scotty, plenty of summer shows are good, even if reality tv seems to dominate stuff.
Entourage, Rescue Me, Damages, Flight of the Conchords, etc…all great summer shows.
Of course…not THIS summer, ugh.
Definitely not this summer, although as you pointed out, there are some good ones, just an awful lot of bad ones too.
@Nicky -sorry to bag on SYTYCD, I know it’s your fav.
I’ve watched most of the American Gladiators episodes so what do I know. lol

Did anyone notice that Ricky from MSCL was in the scene with Drew Barrymore?! That’s awesome!
I will totally see this movie, but I think it’s funny that guys would not be in to ANY of these beautiful women! Ah, Hollywood!
I wonder how many people even know what MSCL stands for
I haven’t a clue what MSCL stands for.
The movie looks pretty good. I heard of the book when it first came out and it sounded pretty funny, so I’m sure the movie will be too.
Definitely looks much funnier than I originally thought it would.
And there are some good summer shows even if you don’t like reality TV. Eureka is coming back in July.
