Just in case you missed all the ads for it, Mary McCormack is in a new series on USA that premieres on Sunday called In Plain Sight.
McCormack hails from The West Wing most recently, but has also appeared in ER, 1408, For Your Consideration and more.
McCormack plays Mary Shannon, who is a U.S. Marshal who works with a top secret Federal Witness Protection Program (WITSEC). She’s based in the Alburquerque/Santa Fe area and is responsible for all the Federal Witnesses that are placed in her care.
Fred Weller is her partner, Marshall Mann, who of course is a total opposite of Mary.
I have stated the fact that when 4 out of 5 new shows revolve around some form of law enforcement, it starts to get old. I wanted to like New Amsterdam, but once again…it involved a guy who was also a detective. It seems you cannot have a show without some sort of legal angle these days.
That’s why series like Lost, or Pushing Daisies, or Battlestar Galactica are so appealing to me.
Still, I’m a sucker for finding hidden gems in the summer so I’ll give this a shot and post a review on Monday.
Any takers?
I’ve heard nothing but good, good things about this show. The closest I saw to a negative comment was about her family dragging the show out of its rhythm, but even at that they don’t spend much time with her mother and sister. I’ve got my fingers crossed that this is going to be a good match with Burn Notice for a bit of summer fun.
Richards last blog post..FSW: Rachael Ray, Terrorist!
Good stuff Richard, glad to find some feedback on it.
I’ll definitely be watching it now.
Glad I can set my DVR from work. Just added it. Will check it out.
Setting your DVR from the web is flat out awesome.

Maybe I’ll post about it…I meant to a long time ago.
We were turned off by the original previews where she agrees to help someone get a boob job, has casual sex on a futon, and moans sexually in public.
The more recent previews have toned down all the raunchy stuff and stressed the job rather than her personal life.
Still don’t know if we want to wade through the crap to see the stories…
