I just wantd to past on this photo I found this morning after last night’s episode of Lost. It’s simple, but interesting.
Could the flowers and drawings on Kate’s fridge just be items reused for budget/production reasons, or do they actually mean something?

I think they are re-uses. Little boys don’t have that much affinity for flowers and butterflies.
I wondered about that when I saw them on the refrigerator… they seemed a little obvious and out of place. I didn’t know they were in Santa Rosa, too!

I think it was purposeful, either because Hugo is right there is something too superficially perfect. Why else would you put “happy” things in a mental institution? Either that or its a mind f*&#! the producers are doing to screw with viewers.

interesting… any other show i would say they are reusing props, but with lost, it very easily could have meaning.
I agree with Kory, Lost doesn’t do anything without it having some sort of meaning. The images are too big and obvious for them not be there to get our attention.

I’m definitely on the side of that being purposeful and part of the greater story. Those writers are tricksie…

I think sometimes they just do stuff like this to mess with us (like all of the references to the numbers way back when) because they know people screen-shot everything and analyze the heck out of it. It’s a fun game we all do – both sides appreciating the detail of the other side.
When it is all said and done, it will be interesting to look back to see which clues were real and which ones were fake.
jina: I agree with you, I think they are just using that little detail to mess with us and see if we would notice.
Something else, my friend D. L White wrote this on her blog after the show and it just gave me chills. She wrote: “Last week I had mentioned how I felt like the show had gotten very dark and hopeless. I had thought about equating it to The Empire Strikes Back section of the LOST saga, but I didn’t know if that would make sense. Then tonight, there were more dark, tragic turns and then…we see a toy Millennium Falcon….” ok, see, I have chills. It feaks me out how in tune she is with the show on some level that I didn’t even think of. Here is a like to her blog: http://mystorminateacup.blogspot.com/search/label/LOST
