"Sportscenter" to change format in August

We rarely talk about sports on Pop Critics, but when interesting news arises from that world, it must be passed on.

Especially because I love sports. I love ESPN, Pardon the Interruption, ESPNews and of course, SportsCenter.

Well, SportsCenter is about to get a revamping, and one that I think is kind of cool. Usually, when you watch SportsCenter during the day, it’s a repeat episode from a previous broadcast. They only update bits and pieces of the telecast for new or breaking news.

That’s going to change on August 11th, when ESPN starts shooting the show live during the day, from 6 AM to 3 PM EST. There will be three shifts responsible for the airings, including the talents of Linda Cohn, Josh Elliot, Robert Flores, Chris McKendry and the newly added Hannah Storm.

If you have ever telecommuted and had ESPN during the day, you probably got sick of the repeats of SportsCenter, so this is a welcomed change in my opinion.

    You may not talk sports but its still a TV show… cool stuff you guys are branching out to today!! Now I have to go back and relisten to Shaq's latest rap song about Kobe (Mo's favorite NBA player btw…)

    yeah i have to watch that fifty more times, i can't believe it led off sports center.

    I can watch espn news all day how pathetic

    Good to hear about the changes. SportsCenter was getting rather stale, hopefully this will reinvigorate it a bit.

    I like that there changing things up, but i did enjoy seeing Shaq's rap about Kobe a hundred times the other day!

    Man, I was listening to Jim Rome on the radio for a 30 minute drive I had to make on Tuesday, and that's was ALL he could talk about :)
