According to the UK’s Telegraph, James Bond star Daniel Craig yesterday cut off part of his finger on the set of Quantum Of Solace, the latest Bond flick which some are calling “cursed.”
Daniel Craig was filming a scene at Pinewood Studios, when he cut off the tip of one finger in an action sequence. Mr. Craig was rushed to the hospital, treated, and released. He went back to the set and continued to work in the afternoon.
A member of the production team said: “There was quite a lot of blood and it was decided he needed to go to hospital for emergency treatment.
The finger incident is just the latest in a long line of freak accidents that have left many wondering if the set or the movie itself is “jinxed” or “cursed.”
Some of the previous incidents that have occurred:
- In March, Daniel Craig, was taken to Punta Pacifica hospital in Panama for a check up after bruising his ribs.
- In early April, production was briefly interrupted when Carlos Lopez, the mayor of Sierra Gorda in Chile, drove onto the set to complain the filmmakers had not asked his permission to film.
- A Bolivian minister, Pablo Groux, filed a formal complaint against the film in a court in Bolivia, complaining that the film stigmatises Bolivians as drug dealers. He added that he was offended the producers had chosen to film scenes representing Bolivia in Chile, its historic enemy.
- A week ago, a collision left a gash on the Craig’s face that required eight stitches
- Just last weekend a fire broke out on the set which severely damaged an outdoor Bond set at the studio.
- In April, two stunt drivers were injured in two crashes during filming on location in Lake Garda in northern Italy.
- A third car accident saw an Aston Martin catapulted into the lake after skidding on a wet road.
- Pinewood Studios itself, where Bond is filming, only reopened a year ago after an earlier fire destroyed a giant replica of Venice during filming of the last 007 film, Casino Royale.
The film may not be cursed, but it is definitely having its share of bad luck which has left cast and crew feeling a bit on edge. I can’t say I blame them. Let’s just hope the film is worth all the trouble.
Quantum Of Solace is set to hit theaters on November 7, 2008.

What the frak? Crazy! Will the women still want him with a nub? We'll soon see. I'm thinking… yes!
ROTFL – with a nub! Brilliant.
Is Terry Gilliam involved in this movie – geez man – that is crazy that they are having such a difficult time with this. I did not realize they were having so many obstacles and bad things happening on this set.
The best part is that he loses the tip of a finger, there is lots of blood, yet he goes back that same day to keep shooting.
If there ever was a James Bond out there, it's Daniel Craig baby.
I just hope they've got a second set of cameras rolling so when the movie collapses amidst all the insanity they can release a documentary about it.
I agree with that!
I wonder if I will injure myself eating popcorn …when I inevitably see this movie!
He's a man, Mike. A man.
I bet he anited up on a poker table saying “I'll raise you one…”
That's, like, the definition of badass.
Probably playing with Tarintino in that case…
Didn't the Prez choke on some popcorn a few years back?
LOL
HAHAHAHA cursed just beacause a finger!!
or the bride…
blonde BOND LOST A hand
Well, a bit more than a finger has happened
This is crazy. It could make people who have OCD or anxiety become petrified of eating popcorn ever again. Crazy stuff here!!
Erm.
“Cursed” is a strong word. Am sure many accidents and incidents happen in every movie ever produced.
I thought Strong was a strong word… =)
Cursed was more tongue-in-cheek
You're thinking of a pretzel.
But nice try.
Popcorn, Pretzel…it's all snack food. Same difference.
it's photo shopped
What is???
Yeah but this one more than others or else why would they post this?

What is with these idiots that go around posting “It's Photo shopped” all the time.
I don't even know what they're talking about since the photo above has nothing to do with his finger. I just thought it was a cool picture – and it's straight from the studio…
Of course there will be accidents when making a film of this nature. The amount of stunts in it almost guarantee that there'll be injuries.
Bruised ribs and the tip of a finger getting sliced of are hardly reason to say it's “cursed”.
Did you read the rest of the stuff that has happened?
Also, I swear people read this and think the “cursed” think is serious, lol
Really?
Welcome to the real world. Making films is NEVER easy.
